Both trucks were towing…..
The Raptor with the Malibu did one hell of a job avoiding it the way he did. That could’ve been a lot worse.
That dash cam probably saved his ass too

Officer blew it, both trucks following too close. Those guys got what they deserved, all three shitty driving/lack of experience/not paying attention.

I disagree with some of these posts...plain and simple the cop fucked up, the guy following him was not following too close and the raptor towing the boat did an amazing job of not completely losing it or hitting the guy in front of him.

You know these guys? Raptor dude would have saved it if he got off the brakes. But he probably saw that Gaurd rail coming and figured he was going to stop in time.
im kind of surprised the trailer pushed him around like that though.

He’s in the dirt, the tires have no traction and being on the brakes make it worse. If he let off the brakes and steered out of it, it would have been a non issue. Same thing would have happened to an F450, maybe not quite into a jackknife because of the longer wheelbase.

Imagine if they didn’t have that camera. They would be at fault for sure.

I need to look into one for my truck.

Emergency situation. I don't like what the cop did, but none of this would have happened if both trucks had given more distance to the car they were following. If you can't stop in case of an emergency you are following too close.

Grads, we know, always play the victim.

If he kept it pointed straight I don’t think it would have spun like that.
He tried to veer left and that’s when the ass came around.
He did a hell of a job.

That’s basically impossible nowadays. If I give space to every car that got in front of me I would never leave the driveway lol.

you give an inch and some dick wad jumps in front.

That and lack of forward momentum. Trailers don’t have ABS, trailer wheels locked up in the dirt under braking and pushed the tail end of the truck. It would have pushed the tail end of an F250 or 350 as well in the dirt, the tires simply don’t have traction.
At the end of the day everything did it’s job and no one looked to be hurt.

typical media reporting...

"The trooper's car went into the path of an oncoming pickup truck that was towing a boat, causing it to jacknife."

If the cop would have turned on his lights sooner or only turned left.
It would be the trucks fault.
But the quick stop, lights last second and the whole shuck and give right left thing. Kind of makes it hard to avoid.

The truck was not tailgating. A bit close maybe.

If you can’t stop or slow down to avoid hitting the car in front of you when they do something fucking stupid it’s your own fault.
You’ve got to assume that all these people on the roads have their head up their ass and not paying attention especially when towing a trailer you just got to give extra distance

So doing something stupid is perfectly legal. Got it.

You mean the Black Porsche SUV? I mean I guess he could identify as a truck if he wants.

I don't know a person who would knowingly tailgate a cop car.

He looks to be a good two truck-n-trailer lengths behind.

Just because the highway patrol turned on his lights does not relieve him of the responsibility of making safe maneuvers. I wish there was more leading video to see what was happening before hand.

There's a time when people might think you're stupid.
In this case - the cops removed all doubt by making this statement.

The guy had 2 seconds at (highway speed) after the emergency lights came on.

So the cop slams on the brakes, blocked the shoulder - then pulled across the driving lane and crossed a double yellow on a blind curve - and it's the truck's fault?

I thought it was called drifting.

If the Raptor driver wasn't so hard on the brakes, he probably could have saved it and go back on the road.

Drifting or drafting?
I've drafted behind a semi and got great fuel mileage. 😁

Ok so are we also applying this logic to the wakes of wakeboard boats that people complain about constantly? If you jump a wake or your boat gets swamped, you were simply going too fast for conditions.

To your point, let’s be real, that cop turned out in front of the truck. Truck began evasive action drifting toward the center then the cop cut across in front of the truck, truck hits cop. Cop should have stopped and waited for traffic to pass.

Truck behind saw what was going on, and swerved to avoid. He just hit dirt and began to slide.

Accident was caused by the overzealous cop.

Yup cop did some dumb shit. But if the trucks had given more room to stop they wouldn’t of crashed.

You want to apply logic or laws? Some times you can’t get both.
