Looking to try Mesquite with a group in January. Any recommendation for which RV park is a little nicer? Casino ones any good?

Also, I see lots of trails on the apps, but any recommendations for “must see” or do? Intermediate or less for skill levels.

Thanks in advance

We were in Mesquite in October for a Bar 10 trip and staged at Sun Resorts RV Park a couple of days prior and after our run to the North Rim. It's a nice newer park in town, right next door to a super market and Casino close. The spaces are a little tight but overall really nice and they have free coffee and donuts every morning at the office.

After we returned from the Bar 10 ,we liked the little bit of local riding we did so much that we decided to stay another week and do some more exploring in the area. Sun Resorts didn't have room for us but they referred us to their sister park in Scenic and we moved out to Orchard Park RV. It's brand new and super roomy. Probably the largest pull through sites I have ever stayed in. They were still finishing up construction on some of the amenities but it worked well for us. As a plus it's really close to all the trails that head north towards St. George, many of them are really pretty cool. On the downside it's 15 minutes or so from Mesquite, restaurants, Casino, stores etc.

On a side note, and this was a bit of a suprise, we had an amazing steak dinner the last night of our 2 weeks at Katherines Steak House at the Casa Blanca Casino. We couldn't get a table (make reservations) so the 6 of us ate at the bar and had a great time mixing with the bartenders and the bar flies. The food and service were exceptional.

We had heard D.O.T. Was removing the fencing and Little Jamaica was to once again be accessible. Right where the I 15 crosses over the Virgin River.

Little Jamaica is gone with the freeway expansion. Some decent trails but primarily geared towards sxs’s. Virgin River is the shittiest casinos and preferably my favorite. It has the cheapest minimums. You can park your RV and camp in their park lot I’m fairly sure. Rooms range from $30-110 a night or so for the premium weekends. Casa Blanca and Eureka area the premium casinos. You can walk from Virgin to Eureka. There’s a sorts ranch owned by the same people that own Eureka across the street that has a free shuttle as well. It’s probably the nicest/newest property in town.

Were you there (Bar 10) with the group that hit the deer?

Hah, this internet deal makes the world a smaller place. I'm pretty sure we chatted over breakfast one morning.

We had a great time on that trip, and the deer strike was a new experience for sure.

I gotta say I'm pretty sure you guys won the long distance award. You travelled from Missouri or was it Ohio?

Missouri, however there was one couple from farther and they were from Ohio.

That was a great trip for us and the Bar 10 was spectacular.

Great New RV Resort! Plenty of Space, Great for large groups, complimentary ATV trailer parking, 1 mile to Casa Blanca Casino, ride to trails from the RV Park.
The Chamber Off RoadMap 2nd Page
Gold Butte- Back Country Scenic By Way is fantastic ...Little Finland is spectacular to see. Go Via Keyhole, Choo Choo, Key West Mine. Also Flat Top Mesa is fun trail. all easy to intermediate trails.
