exactly what it is, it provides a better grip than a standard crescent wrench. like a box end compared to a open end wrench.

Yea, when you really start to swing on something, gives you a small cushion you can ride....nothing is as bad as when you are really going at something and miss...and can't stop from smashing your shit....

Just like when you are using a knife/razor and can see it happen faster than you can stop from slicing yourself....

Exactly what I did once. Had even just put a new blade in the razor knife and was trimming shim stock from the doorjamb. I fn knew it was going to happen but I couldn't stop it. Bout took the end of my finger off.

Chisel holder.
Winner!

Holds punches and the like to keep you from fucking up your hands/fingers.

Actually I'm fairly certain this is the adjustable wrench style. Hence why the handle is far more robust than just the little threaded rod like that snap-on holder posted.

That's a Craftsman Pocket Socket. Designed as an adjustable wrench but can also be used for a hex shaped punches/chisles, although without plastic/rubber isolation (as seen on the snap on unit) it might rattle you a bit.

How many here have utilized a shaper to make a set of 123 blocks? This was one of the assigned projects in school. It was much easier than roughing out a block of steel with a chisel.

Shapers are cool. You can make anything with a shaper but money
