Spent many a night on my Grandmother's Murphy bed back in the late 50's. I thought that was such a cool idea for a hide-away bed that was pretty damned comfy.
Only problem was it took up some wall space and unless you moved furniture you really couldn't put much in front of it.
I suppose the fold out couch pretty much replaced it.
Had completely forgot about them until 2009 when my neighbor bought and installed one in one spare bedroom during his post-fire rebuild. His wife wanted to use the room for painting art, so the room served dual purpose if necessary. Was surprised they still made them.

This place was built in like 1913? Not sure when the Murphy beds were installed but thay are cool as hell with all the old hardware and built in "box springs"

Modern wall beds are legit…we’ve been looking at different ideas for inspiration, and there are some cool AF designs out there

Perfect for a guest room that doubles as an office or other rec / craft room when not occupied.

My Dad built murphy beds for both me and my Sister in one house we lived in. I was about 5 at the time. I loved it. Lots of space with it up, or I could put it down and make a fort underneath it.

Exactly what I'm thinking for my soon to be built (hopefully) office.
