I had them on my 08' duramax. Only complaint was they hydro plained in heavy rain. If you rotate every 5k you should get 55k+ out of them.

I have them on my 2002 Tundra and really like them. This is my second set. The first ones had to be replaced after 8 years due to age.

The Ko suck ass on my truck .....anything is better i get 30,000 or less out of them... I already have 30000 on my toyo at open country and still look good. I stuck with them for 8 sets on 2 trucks and now I kick my self for being loyal.

They suck. I only got 30k out of my last set. I had toyo open country's and got almost 50.

I have coopers now and they are doing good.

I've been running Cooper Zeon LTZ LT305/55/20's on my 2500 HD and I got about 53,000 on the last set so I got em again.
They're pretty quiet, just make sure you keep your alignment good and rotate them often to keep them that way.
Plus they're made in the USA.

Same truck, on my second set. First set was about 50k, this set is already at 55k and still looking good. Pretty serious about rotating every oil change this time, have the 4wd powerstroke so they're hard on front tires.

I have 325/60/20 on my 02 7.3. Previous to that were Dick Cepek Mud Countries, so I love the Nittos, they're very very quiet and a softer ride compared to the mud tires. I have also experienced some hydroplaning in the rain with them though, usually if I hit the gas too hard from a stop light.

I've had a few sets, loved them. Rotate every 5k when I serviced and is get 40-45k out of them. Look good and not noisey. I just put general grabbers on my new truck and I'm kicking myself in the ass for it, way to loud and rough at low speed. Wishing I went with the nitto terra grapplers.

So I just bought a set of these for my F250, 2002.
Do you like them if you have them?

I haven't mounted mine yet but not sure if I really like them, Im coming from BFG KO's similar size.

Whats your thoughts, if I don't mount them maybe I will make somebody a deal on them...

https://automobiledecor.com/best-all-terrain-truck-tires/

https://www.nittotire.com/TireSelector/Category?tireSection=grapplertruck#terragrappler

A debt of gratitude is in order for the reference, yet I am looking a best one under $150. If it's not too much trouble propose me a particular one.

I got 65k out of the toyo at 2 on my 2500. Also had got 80k out of a set on my F-150. I would go toyo. Have had a few sets of bfg’s and didn’t get squat for mileage.

I run the G2. Pulling a trailer 90% of the time. I usually get 50-60,000 miles. The key is rotate them every 5000 miles

Howdy RD Peeps!

I will take every opportunity to bad mouth and shit talk Toyo Tires until my dying day.

Short version of the story:

  • Bought my used truck with a set of Open Country tires on them.
  • That set dry rotted (They call it "Ozone Damage") and cracked b4 the tread wore out.
  • Thought Hmmm, but replaced them with a new set. Since I didn't know the history of the 1st set.
  • Not even 10K miles and under 2 years they did the same damn thing!!!
  • Note: My truck is not stored in direct sun light or driven as a daily driver.
  • I contacted Toyo, they basically didn't give two shits and gave me the sweet ass run around.

Bottom Line: Toyo Open Country Tires blow ass.
Along with that shiesty company.

BUY ANOTHER BRAND.

And on that note.......Good day to you all.

My BFG Ko2s are waning and I need a set of tires for my 3/4 ton crew. I got about 25k on them. what a waste.
I'm thinking of going with the Nittos this time around.

Go with Ridge Grapplers. I always ran BFG's. The Ridge Grappler's are dead quiet, look way better, and they work well in every condition I have been. I have 17k miles on mine and they still look new.

BTW and just sayin':
Americas / Discount Tire has recently changed their policy.
I went in to get a new set of tires and they will now, after 18 years of us going way over-sized with them, only sell and mount stock sizes.

I’ve had terrible luck with the NIto Terra grappler‘s. About halfway through their tread life I would have a tire or two that would rip the cords in the center of the tire and the tire would vibrate until I had it removed and replaced. I don’t know if it’s the Arizona heat or the weight of the toy hauler and racecar trailer that kills them but everything was in spec with an E rated tire they should not have this problem.
I kept replacing them because discount tire would give me free replacement every time finally I said screw it and went to a different tire after the last nitro failed me on the way to the race track towing.

This is not true in my area. Just purchased a set of 35 for my truck from Discount back in January. They are in the business to make money. However, you need to do your own research if upgrading to larger tires, Discount has a new policy that staff will not help customers select larger wheels and tires. If you know what you want and size, they will sell it, but not do the homework for you.

That should put a pretty good bite in their Jeep tire sales........VERY few actually put stock sizes on Jeeps......crazy.

Seems like any good attorney could come up with a waiver form that has to be signed by buyer that could hold up in court to protect them......pretty poor policy if it is actually chain wide!

They had been mounting 285 GY AT’s
on our 2001 2500 HD since 2001 and last month they told us no more.
Had to go down the street to Jims tire man.
No problem.

My Buddy's uncle is a regional manager for them (just found this out on Friday). I called him and told him about that and he had never heard of it. He's gonna try to check on that and let me know.

Granada Hills- Northridge Store that happened at.

Simi Store tried to tell me the “Certs” warranty didn’t cover tread separation.
I called the regional office in Westlake and they told me it does and called the store with the news.

Never goes smoothly there anymore. Always a difficult employee or a glitch of some sort.
You get some employees making their own policy.

This. I couldn't get the Terra Grapplers in a 37" when i did my truck, so they talked me into the Ridge Grapplers. They're quieter than my old KO2's were, and ride nice.

FWIW, my experience with Discount is that they will sell oversized tires, provided your wheels are within the recommended width, and they meet the load range requirements for your vehicle. On a 2500 or 3500 SRW truck, this can limit your choices significantly.

Nittos after about 2010 just suck. Between my 2 trucks I've had 22 nitto tires. Dura and terra grappler. 13 of them have broken belts at around 40% tread. Never was able to wear out a complete set without belt breaking. They have silent recalls and their customer services suck. Took 2 months of headaches to get a set of tires replaced.

What truck? Any other info?

F250
Size: 37×13.5×18
Deep cracks / dry rot on all 4 tires.
Truck is 100% covered from the sun. Not a daily driver.
Corporate jerked me around until I said that i would "go loud" on every website that I am a member on.
Then they came up with some rediculious sliding scale for remembusment.

I was offered like $500 credit toward a new set of $1,800 tires.

Y

It's and F-250
Tire size 37 x 13.5 x 18
Deep cracks on the top of the tire, above the side-wall. On all 4 and all the way around.
The guy I bought the tire from was scratching his head as well as the "Authorized" Toyo Dealer they sent me to.
The Corporate Office fed me bullshit and had me go to different Toyo tire shops while telling me it was all normal.
It was not until I made threats that they finally offered me a discount on another set.

Ya NO Thank you!!

It’s funny you brought up the Pathfinders. I have a set on my truck and 30k on them. I just had them rotated and discount tire mentioned the great reviews that they have been getting on them. They look pretty identical to the nittos.

Yeah, the guy told me that Hancook makes them, don’t know if that is true.
I put Hancooks on our old C5 and loved them. Totally different style tire, but for the price I was more than willing to give them a shot.

Just ran them to Colorado and back, very quiet on the hwy and handled the snowy muddy rig road up a cliff just fine. Hell, I even had them mounted with the lettering out.
The old Tahoe is pushing 150K Miles, the tires will probabaly outlive the truck.

First time I have heard this about Nitto/Toyo customer service. When I worked in the business the Terra Grappler had just hit the market. We had sets chunking bad. They would send us new tires no questions asked. How much were you driving it? Excessive sitting could have induced it.

Yes, it does sit a lot.
But
Full on big problem within 2yrs of purchase, never out in the direct sun light and all the way around each tire??
This ain't my first rodeo with tires.
I have never seen that crap on the Toy Hauler or my Boat Trailer and I have way over 10 years on those things.
Never so much as a hair line crack anywhere on anything I have ever owned except these shitty Toyos.
Even the Dealers were amazed.

So who knows.
Maybe I got a bad set, but they didn't want to do a thing for me, until I threatened to spread the word about it.

O-well, it be what it be!

Agree with you that it is crap. They should have sent a new set based on pictures, or at the very least x amount of actual pro rated age.

Companies now go into a panic if you threaten them with internet bashing. I worked for a shitty exhaust company which I won't name because people actually think they are good. Anyways one guy they gave him 3 kits, hats, shirts, jackets, you name it to keep him quiet.

Great tires for me ... had them on a Tahoe and Tundra easily get 50K out of 'em ... not too much road noise ... wear well ... they look good too. The question about tire pressure always came up ... 60 psi to 80psi ... I always ran 65.

Was it Gibson? :) I need headers for my truck. Lol

I run 65 psi normally and increase to 75-80 psi in the back when towing.

No not Gibson, but if you are going Gibson buy from a supplier that actually stocks what you need. They build a lot of parts to order. Takes forever.

What are you towing? That is a lot of psi. Probably could drop down to 50-55 and gain some ride quality.
