DaveC<---- lucky cuz someone else got pulled over while I made a clean getaway.

Brings back memories of being handcuffed to 5 or 6 other "bad kids"...in the back of a police wagon....:p

Unfortunately, thats all that races in Compton now. Stopped going to the street races when the ricers started showing up and thats about the same time that we started having shootings there.

I also stopped going when the ricers came.:swear

I started making money when the ricers came:skull

It was just a mild 260Z, on slicks, and a trailer. Wouldn't come off the trailer for under a grand:D

Neat thing is a 14:1 smallblock looks just like a 10:1 smallblock:hotdevil

Pics would have been considered evidence...:D

It was flat black, 4pt cage, plastic RCI buckets, and centerlines.:hmm I miss that car:smackhead

Current toy is different, but just as fun. 1970 Porsche 914 w/ a Subbie STI motor... 380HP and 2K lbs. Oh yeah, this one corners too :D

Thats what i was thinking typical new yorkers 3 minutes for a 5 second show...cars are fast as hell though will give them that.

Was a blast going there. Big Willie keeps trying to open that place up again. Have heard they would open it but only if Big Willie was NOT involved.

Sure do miss Van Nuys on Wednesday nights! The "good ol' days" when the LAPD might show up "to watch" and maybe even "participate" once in awhile.

All you "runners"; what did you run? Myself; I ran a '56 150 Chevy "wagon" w/a 283 that was estimated @ maybe 350HP w/a Muncie M-22 "rock crusher" and 356 gears. Not fast; not awe-inspirin'; but fun as hell and you could "pack the back" w/a $hitload of whatever!:thumbsup:p

I know this is a boating forum, but I love this $hit! The vids are great. Thanx.

I used to bring out my Moms 1964 GTO, 389, 4 speed. She still has the car.

I too miss the old days of cruising Van Nuys Blvd.

In danger of incurring your wrath for dating yerself; when did you "cruise"? Myself; '71-'73 consistently. Then I've taken the wife back a few times since, but not since '80 or '81. It had even changed by then.:(

My cruising days were from about 1978-when they stopped us from going.

In 77 I saw Mad Max, that summer of 77, I went with my dad to canoga park kawasaki, and paid $3000.00 out the door foe my KZ 900, owned it for 2 years until I got tired of almost killing myself, sold it for $3500.00 in 1980....I grew up 2 blocks from the blvd....Right near Sherman Way :D:D:D

Yea at the end when they he had low riders scraping bumpers going down the track knew it wouldn't be to long before closing.
