Who’s got what that I can use as a toad behind the motorhome? Must seat a family of five. Prefer 4x4 if possible for light Offroad / exploring.

Really prefer to have blue ox equipment already on it.

Not that that isn’t a spot on recommendation to buy but I think RD’s looking to borrow someone’s.

I have never borrowed one in my life and don’t intend to start now.. lol

I usually just buy one and either sell it at the end of the trip or whatever kid is helping me usually ends up driving it and finances it through me etc.

Already have the tow kit on it? Price pics miles year etc?
I was working off the assumption of looking for suggestions. I have heard they make good Toads though.
I have one, seating will be tight for five people and I don't think it will be as roomy as a 4 door JK.
Well 3 of his are kids and having the bed would allow for flexibility in hauling bikes and scooters to the dumpsters.

It would haul bikes well, maybe a shopping cart if needed. The legroom in the back seat is not growing kid-friendly; especially if the driver does not want to eat the dash, when Angie has the seat forward, I can't get into it.

My oldest is 12 and realistically we would only use it for one or maybe two trips. The truck bed sounds amazing for hauling bikes coolers etc..

A gladiator would be rad but that is ten times what I want to spend. I need to keep the dusky for the new “potential” boat because it’s pretty heavy.

I’d rather not.. if I was gonna do that I’d just setup Stacy’s Denali for it..

I have had real good luck just buying a 4-7k car before the trip and other selling it or getting one of our entry level employees into a nicer ride then what they currently had.

RD
I use my car hauler trailer and tow a car or truck behind on it.

I have done that in the past before as well.. right now though we don't have a vehicle small enough to do that with.. Stacy has an XL Denali and I have an F350.

Fair enough. I didn’t think you could find a vehicle for 4-7k

Is the Denali 4x4? if so and it has a "N" transfer case likely it's towable.......

I tow a '16 GMC Canyon.... room for 5 if you're very close...lol. Actually back seat is too tight for 3 adults, 2 adults or 3 kids are fine

If your RV is a pusher, you can likey tow a full size p/u which would be my preference. Ford and GM pickups are towable (4x4 is a must).

DOnt know about Ram.

Check Etrailer.com for base plate availability.... plenty of choices and usually a video for the install

Also, IRV2.com is a good forum for info

Both the Denali and the F350 are towable and 4x4.. I just don't see the need to tow a dually behind the rv.. I'd rather tow my 30' enclosed than the dually just because of the width.. LOL. The Denali is do-able, but I'd rather not beat up the car behind the motorhome with rock chips etc..

Best 5-passenger option is probably a GMT360 (2004 or newer) as long at it does >>not<< have the NVG full time 4WD (which is great except that you'll be towing it). I've owned four of them and the GMC Envoy and the Olds Bravada are the best of that breed (but nothing wrong with the others). GMT360 is the lightest weight option you'll find with body-on-frame (truck) construction, 'natively' RWD, built on a 'real' truck platform and literally millions were built (Envoy, TrailBlazer, Olds Bravada, Buick Rainier, Isuzu Ascender, Saab 9-7x etc.) so everyone knows how to work on them and parts are cheap as dirt on Amazon, junkyards, etc. If you go this route, get the 'Atlas' LL8 Vortec 4200 straight-six ONLY, it's the Cummins 6B of gasoline truck engines IMO and beat all the V8 truck competition in Baja 1000 and Pike's Peak back in the day. Inline six engines just don't get enough respect. The later V8 powered versions were lots of fun but an expensive PITA$$ to maintain. Between the two Bravada's, one Rainier and the Envoy I've owned since GMT360 came out, I've put almost a million miles on them. By the way...your wife will LOVE it, they have the tightest turning radius of any mid-size SUV ever made AFAIK, and I can tell you that a GMC Envoy will be plenty of fun for 'light' offroading and maybe a little more...

I can’t believe it. Nobody has suggested an F150.
But seriously maybe not a bad thought and you could put kids bikes in back of it.

I had an 04 Nissan Titan. It was the 5.7 4x4 and that thing would scoot.
The back seat was roomy enough for three people.
They had some valve body problems but I’d say that would be solved by now in most of them.
I would bet you could find one of those in your price range,

I just bought a couple Toyotas that I’m going to turn over on the market as soon as they get to havasu. One is a very very low mileage 2010 (I think, I’d have to look at paperwork) Rav4. Middle of the road options. 25k ish miles. Haven’t set a price on it, need to see how much I’m into in next week. It’ll be above your range but would be an epic tow behind to keep for a bit and give one of your kids at 16?

If you may be interested I’ll text you once it’s dropped off.

FYI, I bought my current Bravada (2004 "Final 500") with the (Minnesota made) "Blue Ox" installed already from South Dakota and had it towed to me. The New Venture Gear full-time 4WD did fine, but I suspect it would be better to have the manual control for the front drive axle. You'll find a super clean Envoy for under $5K...

If you're RV'ing, putting bikes and other easily stealable stuff in the bed of a pickup isn't optimal (speaking from painful experience)....

Haven't read all the responses, so it may have been said. I would tow the Denali. Get a rock guard. I would get both of these. I had the roadmaster for my jeep and not one chip towing full time.

Yukon Denali? I loved my 2011 but that's a BFH solution to a small hammer problem. @RiverDave 's "use case" is simply five passengers and some occasional off-road fun....

If RD passes on the Rav4, send me the info. I'll be buying something for a new driver in the next month or so.

If I could find anything decent for 6-8k?
Your budget is on the low side IMO and nope I don't know of anything I would pull, that my family can reliably ride in, that is flat towable with all the stuff already mounted. You live right in the heart of retirement ville. Hit all the RV Parks with a Blues Brothers speaker on your roof and maybe you'll get lucky.

I towed a Durango over 20k miles and that worked well towing however the car its self was a check engine light nightmare. Prior to that I flat towed a 79 International Scout II using a tow bar.

Maybe I’m reading something different than you are.
