Spent the last few weeks finishing up this project that had been sitting for a couple years.

8’ long (96”)
62 pounds wet
Twin Turbine 170000rpm
Shaft 30000rpm
Speed 85
Runtime 15min

Took the boat to Riverland on the Strip last Monday for its maiden voyage.

Boat fired up and ran flawless. Ran about 65-70 mph.

Right about 70 the boat would get loose in the breeze, forgot to set the drives to the proper running angle, they were flat. Should have been -1.3 degrees.

Next time we will see 85.

15 minutes is all it takes, at 85 mph, to cross over from Mexico into the U.S. I bet it could hold 2 illegals. :)

Son of a bitch! That’s some real “next level” shit right there!
That’s downright cool.

What kind of turbines are those? Is there a transmission or is it direct drive and always spinning the props??

Looks cool.....good job!

Absolutely amazing. Would love to have one of those. So cool but I really have zero need.

It would be cool though!
But I see those engines (bare) are over $4000 apiece!

Jetcat is the MFG, German company. For boat applications it is a two shaft turbine with a gear box

Sell for over 30k in an hour when finished. Buyer: Dubai

Brian

Got a question. Few years back, I've met a fellow from Hong Kong who was invited by a local r/c flying club to demonstrate large scale fighter jetswith jet propulsion [ he had 5 of themo_O:) ]
He brought his planes to Pitt Meadows airport, got permission . using the parallel runway next to the main runway. He flew them totally out of sight using GPS coordinate home base to bring them back. His radio cost about 10 grand alone. Do you have a program in your radio or have a GPS locator to find the boat in case runs out of sight, depending where it will be used? It's a lot of money invested to lose a craft such as this.
These guys into i big time.

I do not have cameras or locator, can be done though with a FPV setup.

Do have fail safe, so if communication is lost the boat will shut off.
