Just brought this home from the Stockton/Delta area.
It has the 6.2/Bravo 3, with 265 hours on it.
It appears to have been stored in doors its entire life. But I will be outdoor boat from now on. Uggg.

Its in awesome condition for its age, but does need to be detailed.

I rank Cobalt at top of the food chain for the traditional run about.

A few key things, that I needed. The swim step is literally a few inchs above the water line, Combined with a ladder thats has an angle, not at 90 degrees. Due to the age of a few family members. THATS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, to meet their needs.

You guys know me… I research and analyze shit to infinity and beyond.

For now, I am hoping its exactly what I need for the next few years.

Cobalts dominate Tahoe. When you tire of this one you will not lose a nickel selling it. Well made and the gel is first class.

My Ocean Boat partner has one going on 20+ years. 26' and doesn't care what chop the river has in store.

Good choice. They last forever. Neighbor has a 1978 that still looks and runs great. Another friend bought a used 2012 last year at LOTO and we brought it back to GLOC for him.
Built like a brick shithouse and hold their value exceptionally well.

Cobalt was never really on my radar until Daves Montana thread, started looking online and saw some models that sort of reminded me of the Formula SS line of boats, luxury and performance.

A picture of the swim step and ladder.
Again, This is a key reason why I was interested in this boat, combined with low hours 6.2 Merc and being in great condition.

Guess what I am doing today… Yep, about to wash it and break out the buffer… Make her shine. Guess who drove thru a rain storm yesterday, bring it home… UGGGG its freaking filthy right now…

I also need to come up with a name for… hmmm…. Put the thinking cap on and see what I can come up with.

I love the look of the Cobalt, there is a white one, probably 24’ on Acoma in Havasu, that I admire every time I drive by. The blue that you purchased is another beautiful color, Yamaha has the same configuration in their jet boat, just love it. Congrat’s

unconditionally the best mass produced boat on the water. Go to the boat shows and look at all the goofy rating systems. Everyone else if fighting for second. I loved my 98 255. Had 1000 hours of real family use on it. Other than some minor maintenance it was appliance like and still looked beautiful. Only reason I sold it was at the peak of covid someone offered me 70% more than I paid for it 5 years earlier.

When I buy used toys, I go thru them with a find tooth comb. Change all the fluids/filters, inspect everything, includeing the bearing on the trailers. In addition to that, I try to restore the exterior / interior to “new” condition if I can.

After that, then I do my best to just maintain that look.

Other than this boat getting towed thru a rain storm, it needs a good wash, and minor gel coat buffing, a good polishing, a spots on the interior need a bit of elbow grease.

Having said all that,,, the next 8 hours will be spent working on it. Thats what I do.

Time to get to work…

In Fallon NV, dude has 22 foot Cobalt I think for sale.. with 1979 hours on it… Its in great condition, I almost bought it and re powered it with a 496HO… (Love those engines). Dont get me wrong its running perfectly right now with great compression #s… but I think that boat can be bought for a damn good price.

I just didnt want to take on a project of that magnitude when I could get the boat I just bought, and this on has a much better layout for my needs.

That's a great boat. I had same power package in my four Winns. Same year. Sold it for covid money after losing my storage spot.
