No wife that’s why you can afford a boat and you didn’t need permission
My wife wanted a fishing boat so she fishes off a 21 foot shockwave jet

definatly a win win for me on that , got rid of the wife & replaced her with a jet boat. I got to admit having a boat took the sting out of her leaving. I mean her leaving a couple days before boat season me knowing my boat is ready w/full tanks and ice chests .... I do miss her sometimes but thats only when i have to dock my boat then run back to park my truck myself...

First thing I saw too! Period correct and pure awesome.

pallets of cash required is no joke. DO NOT TRY TO SAVE MONEY. I can tell you a story about an Outdrive I dripped money into before I saved up and had it built right. That drive ruined every trip until I had it fixed right.

also, with a jet, if you are not on the gas, it will not turn. Just making sure you know.

just make sure you use lanyard, lifeline jacket, and helmet 100 mph in a boat calls for maximum safety equipment

On that topic, i've seen the little or various sized not sure right name for it but basiclly a rudder or scag that people added to the jet . Are those effective at all. thats one of the things i thought about when i realized the steering situation. that n a parachute or ejector seat but knowing my dumb ass id panic and abort while still in the no wake zone!

Im plan on finding someone to give her a trial run and just go through the motions test n tune it then listen to them carefully as to what i should or shouldnt do & how she handles. Compensate for their time & knowledge of coarse.

Not to mention, he needs another axle on that trailer. 2 axel trailers cause babies to die.
I apoligize for my ignorance but ive been thinking of your comment and not sure im getting it... does this mean tandum axle trailer not suffitiant ? suggesting 3 axle trailer,,, is that not overkill being 3rd axle would make half the trailer nothing but wheels? again I apoligize first ive heard of this and confrused.

Rogers. Circle boat hull. But you've heard this before.
I'm not sure it's a Bonneville. @old rigger would know. ATA few others would know.
I believe advantage in Havasu has the molds.
A true river hot rod.
Add HP as necessary.
Pallets of cash works.
Welcome to the madness.

Dan'l

It's a Super Cyclone. Improved bottom over the older Cyclone that had the deep entry and it's the same bottom that was used on the 18 Bonneville.
roger didn't sell this set of molds to Harry at Advantage but I believe they still have the 18 Bonne molds. Not sure where these molds ended up after Roger retired. I know all molds were bought by one guy but it seems he sold some, at least the 19TR molds, to someone that's building them now. Amazingly I've reached out to the guy with the TR molds to get a quote on a bare hull twice. Never heard back, must be doing great with orders.

Best fucking 18 v bottom jet hull ever tooled up.

The rudders help a little but not much.

Or was it?

I have 2 axles on my boat and have no idea where I lost an entire wheel between hurricane and Paige. But I do have TPMS sensors on all my trailer tires now. Next time a wheel falls off I’ll know where to look for it.

Great looking survivor boat! Those hulls work really well. The tags say '94? So it's been sitting 30 years? Welcome to Daves!

LMFAO While back I got to the Launch ramp and noticed people staring at me, I ignored them to avoid anxiaety attack and after launching and parked i walked past my trailer and noticed i was missing a whole ass wheel! No clue as to when or where I lost it. I was just hoping i didnt get a lertter or a visit from Johny Flat Foot claiming i was in an accident or caused one.

You have a nice, unmolested example of a Rogers Super Cyclone. Its even got the original Rogers air scoop on the carburetor, which is very cool. There's lots of good people here and none more knowledgeable about Rogers boats than Old Rigger. Have fun!

Yeah the originality of it all makes me feel some type of way because of all the responses ive been getting every where. Rogers was a damn good boat and a well like guy with many admirers. I was thinking maybe selling trading or i dont know just feel like a true fan or admirer of rogers as a person or a boat would better care for the boat. As i do my research im liking what i see and hear and replaning my build of the boat as it is, See I'm a Hot Rod / muscle car guy and am happy and welcome anyone that shares intrest in hot rods /cars. I encourage anyone into the world of hot rodding with excitement and to hot rod any thing you get your hands on, whatever it is. But.. for me personally if a newbie just dicovered cars and maybe cant even drive yet walked up and told me he was given an old junk car sitting in the fields and it turned out to be say 1941 Willy's or 32 ford Duece boy I'd be cursing the lord... id be livid. as for now the old rogers is going to remain as is. keeping as original as can be. and even i i paint it id paint it the same . Even the Rogers gas pedal

Those hulls are very coveted for circle boat racing and drag racing up to approx. 110-120 mph with simply truing up the hull, strakes and using an intake adapter installed straight to the bottom with an
adjustable/tuneable shoe, ride plate etc.
They handle chop real well at speed and turn very well in stock form. They are very fun with mild power to big power. Let your hot rudder work it's magic and it will reward you.

I can’t even imagine making a turn aswell. But I’m all in. Which reminds me to update my life insurance asap.🤣

Congrats on this find. It's a survivor and it appears original. Personally I'd freshen up the gelcoat as best as professionally possible, go thru the engine. Jet pump work etc. Keep the hull as it is. It's only original once.

Pretty exciting stuff for sure. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how comfortable the boat feels at speed. In original stock form it will probably only run about 65-70mph. It'll take some effort and about 700 hp to get into triple digits with a properly prepared pump and all. That's where the fun really begins. Make it sea worthy and just go have fun for now. Winter time you can really get after it if your so inclined.

Yes, absolutely! I think I would pay to have a professional do the gelcoat. I worked my ars off on mine (which wasn't as bad) and got almost nowhere but Perfect image had it about a day and it came out like new for I think $750

I don't know if they can save the upholstery but I would match it as best as possible when I had the coin.

Be curious to see what the original gel looks like. The paint on the cap and hockey sticks are pure 1980's, not '73.

Roger would never paint over a thru hull bildge dump nor would he paint the edge of the TA yellow. Someone did a re-paint in the 80s.

I do like the looks of the Calgo steering helm.

If I’m not mistaken the boat had a full yellow gel coat and it looks like the blue & others were painted along with old school brush pin stripes… am I wrong? That’s what it looks like also the gelcoat is in far better condition than the rest of the colors.

I would be inclined to agree w/that except for that big black appearing chip on the back lt. corner. How deep is that? Or is it just a surface peel?

You guys could very well be right about the yellow being original gel. I was basing my guess on that yellow that appears to have been sprayed on the TA and the big chip. Also looks like there might be yellow overspray around the adjustable step on the transom. I dunno, tough to see in the pics.

That's so tempting. Looking at the pics I'm already thinking, cap it, save the other original gel, and then just gather parts....but i'm going to have to pass.

Must have had bassetts on it? Extra hole in the transom for the water dump.

Thank you for the offer though, very cool of you.

On the other hand if it was a Bonnie I'd be in your drive way this morning. Don't have anywhere right now to stash it but for a bubble I'd find a place.

Old Rigger you are correct there is overspray like bad masking off of jet and other parts. and the black seems to be the gelcoat exposed from the paint flaking off. looks as if they just did a regular paint job over the gelcoat and brushed pin stripes. the gelcoat look actually pretty decent Im pretty sure a good detailer could bring it back looking amazing. Ans much respect to detailers out there, i have a 21 Maxum I tried to get the oxidation off, like i said tried. id do one area to where it would look nice then the next area would be crap. After weeks and many beers I gave up n called a detailer. You dont realize how big a 21 foot boat is till you try to wax/polish it, but this guy came and knocked out in one afternoon. looked so good i didnt want to get my boat wet.
