So I lost a drive coupler in my Conquest last weekend and now I'm gonna have to pull the motor and replace it. Has anyone had any experience withe Sierra replacement parts for Mercruiser? Are they both manufactured by the same company and just relabeled? Or is the Merc one a better quality? I only want to do this once but if I can save a couple hundred bucks for the same quality part I got no problem going with the private label. Maybe one of the Boat shops can chime in here. Thanks

Its less than $100 difference for the Merc one. That's what I put in mine a few years ago and no problems... but I'm not throwing as much HP as you :p

I used Sierra parts in my shop 25 years and 10 years before that in other shops and had one problem in all that time, a bad casting in an exhaust manifold. Sometimes they might not get ALL the o-rings in a water pump kit but I had 1000's of those laying around. By the way overnighted a new manifold and paid me time and half to R&R it.

The last coupler I paid dearly for from Merc had "Made in China" on the box. For the past lots of years because fuck Brunswick going aftermarket all were made by Lord.

Interesting...that is my suspicion that both are made in the same factory and sold under different names.

Llord rubber is based in Wisconsin. It is clearly imprinted on the hub upon inspection.
