Hahaha... I had my heart set on a 25/26/27 Daytona, then I came across the DCB Mach 26's... It all boiled down to the best deal. There was a 2004 25 Daytona that was out of Texas through so,e repo company but had no engine, then some other guy trying to sell the same one with an engine, seemed shady. This was a great deal, owner is awesome, he's had the boat for 9yrs, last 4 yrs its only been out 2x per year. He has every receipt from the day it was purchased, just felt right and was a really good deal. Super clean, immaculate condition, so I pulled the trigger...

Congrats! I'll pay a little more some something with a proven history than try to save a buck by taking a risk on the unknown.

Enjoy the boat, it should be a ton of fun!

To be honest Dave I dont know. When I talked to the owner, he said it started off as a 600HP from DCB, needless to say, its gotten a lot of TLC attention in terms of upgrades. I could throw numbers out my @ss, but honestly I couldnt tell you nor do I have enough exp to try and guess. The previous owner suggested 8-850hp, but he even said he didnt know. The receipt book of all the work thats been done looks like a Itemized Tax statement for the last 13 yrs, its pretty crazy. I would love if someone who was more knowledgeable could go through it and try to figure it out just to know.

This is a huge step up compared to my 20.5 Carrera Elite with a stock 454 in it, so my learning cap is on, trying to soak up as much information about these things as I can while trying to read up on these so I can put my mechanical ability to use too....

congrats on a great boat, now as for h.p, the only way i can tell you how much hp you have is flat on the floor until it has no more then post it!!!! a 800-850 hp 26 should run in the 105 -110 mph range given all the variables you car boat guys have to come up with . i'm going to say a 1.36 ratio 30-32 pitch prop should be about norm !!! but what do i know i only have 600 hp(at least thats what the cowling says)and mine only does 108 . TUNNEL T

He gave me 2 props... A 30 and 32.. The 32 was dinged up pretty good, dropped it off this week for repair, then the 30 goes in, has a small bend on 1 of the tips...

My uncle and I have tried and tried to figure out the gear ratio, I even email IMCO... IMCO on their website says they come with 1:25, 1:34, and 1:50... After all a few runs, nothing crazy, if you calc it out, a 1:34 shows 25% slip and a 1:50 shows 15% slip....

I havent heard back from IMCO... But the last run not really pushing it with 5 people @ 5200RMP with the 30P was 83MPH... So either Im getting a ton of prop slip with a 1:34 ratio, or Im about avg with a 1:50..But I cant find anything in the docs that says what ratio it is...

The motor looks to be a Teague custom marine engine. Bob keeps records on every engine he builds. There's probably a TCM # somewhere on the block. If you want to find out just give him a call.
