Considering traffic rolls at around 80 to 85 now this could present some issues 😂 😂 😂 😂

OMG!!! I'm about to throw this Honda away because the engine shuts off at every light. I'm F'n over this crap! I think I'm going to find a clean older Ram with a Cummins, deleted and drive it till I die. New cars are just piles!

2024 Tacoma has this. It reads the street signs with a camera and posts that info in the instrument cluster.

Including the speed limit. It’s white if you are at/under, but turns red when you go over.

But it doesn’t ding or flash or take any other action. And it’s a small icon so if you’re not paying attention it’s not that intrusive.

But apparently that’s step one. Step two the vehicle slows you down to under the speed limit.

Have fun passing semis that are exceeding the posted speed limit for semis and cars.

So I guess by reading between the lines, it's okay to exceed posted limits by 10mph. Sweet!😁😇

Word to the wise. If you have a newer car, you want to completely opt out of all automated services. You absolutely do not want your car reporting anything to the manufacturer.

GM was selling this data (that included speed, g force, braking, etc.) to data companies. The info then ended up with insurance companies that ultimately was used against drivers. It would not surprise me if others are doing this as well.

It may have already been posted but here is article on it.

Mercury Insurance has an app for that but I opted out only cost me an extra 39.00 for the 6 months.

Sure it’s just “beeping at you” meaning it will require an internet connection to k ow what street it’s on with gps to know the speed limit. It’s not like it would ever report that information back to a centralized agency with the power to impact your driving record and insurance rates…

Oh wait cars already do that. I love my 2001 Silverado.

And if it detects a trailer plugged in then it will enforce the 55? Btw on new Fords you can disable the data reporting of your driving habits and speeding which they sell to a clearing house that offers the data for sale to insurance companies. F this crap. I may have bought my last new car. It’s getting worse every year.

I am going to get a new set of tires so it throws the speedo off. Then I can drive 95 without the alarm going off. Anyone know what sizes I will have to go with? are 40s enough and will they fit my civic? 🤪 🤪 🤪 🤪 🤪

You know if you're not speeding. In California that means you're getting run over by all the other cars because you're going too slow. But if you're trying to leave to go to the river you're not going to be speeding you're going to be parking to the river.
