Finally got the new bimini. The old one rattled everywhere and really didn't offer much protection from anything given it's height. This is actually lower than the old one and built with heavy gauge stainless tube. On the old one the frame would flex and bend at 35mph... Haven't tested this one yet but if the weight of the thing means anything I'm not worried about it.
A-1 took the time to replace all the bimini deck hardware with new stainless and through bolted everything. He also modified my cover to accomodate the new position of the bimini. Overall the bimini is a bit longer, and moved forward 18" from the old mounting position (factory install location had the bimini covering the entire engine hatch). Went with grey mesh down the middle for a bit of heat relief when parked. We'll be testing it out in Havasu shortly
