But I thought maybe you guys might like it because there are a lot of people on here with this style of boat. Looks pretty clean. It's about a mile from my house.

Nice, clean boat, Greg. I'm also interested to know about its history.

The Ad might be new. This Boat has been for sale for awhile now. Atleast a year...

some compare it to a hocking hull. i remember riding in jeff's old hocking and it was extremely squirly at high speed unless you were fearless.

They need a fair amount of bottom work done to run above 85 or so.....

The v-drives handle better, but you need buku power

I've seen that boat on the delta a couple of times. One time it was pulling a skier and looked like practice for ski racing. I think there was thread on this site about a resto while back.

Hey Gang this is my Vaughn Great running hulls. This is the 1st one I found in a storage yard in LA. Bought it from a member on this forum it was completely stripped and was set up as an outboard. I did an article in Performance Boats tracking the full restoration. Sold it to a buddy *( we do use it on the Delta usually skiing double up on our speed skis). Bought ANOTHER Vaughn and it my buddy restored it Finally bought a 3rd one and it should be on the water in about a week. Vaughn Pickering had measured the 24 Schiada then added some fretboard and an older style daycruiser cap. These things are heavy lay-ups and do really on the Delta.
Vaughn 1 was called Blue Heat
Vaughn 2 was the 555 boat
Vaughn 3 was the 888 boat

I keep looking at it every other week but hard to justify 2 boats. Perfect Parker boat I just have a fleet of Nieces and Nephews to haul around tubing.

Vaughn same bottom as 24 Schiada

It's shortened a little, which basically causes them to chinewalk at higher speeds. Not saying they can't be dialed in, but they aren't as easy as a 24 Schiada at speed.

Great looking boats though!

The guy that built them came on here a few times answering questions, and also saying that he didn't splash Schiada. (Which technically he didn't)

Back in the day the 24 Schiada molds were actually sold, and went to a couple of people before being purchased back by Schiada. Somewhere in all of that this boat was born (I believe off a Hocking), which basically is a 24 Schiada bottom (slightly shorter) with a 21 / 22 deck to me.

I love the look of this boat and it appears like it would be a wave crusher for sure and norcalLMO appears to do great work. My only concern is that since the hull was originally designed for OB power does it have enough lift to get a BBC/Bravo out of the water or will it be running wet?

FYI - make no mistake - this is a SOLID 70 mph boat - NOT a 100 mph rocket LOL! It was 'purpose-built' for skiing the Delta SAFE-n-SANE -
Stats:
502 - carb - 50 gal. of fuel 4-adults, Bravo One spinning a Bravo 1 26p at 4800 rpm is 70 on GPS - (with a nice 6-8 inch chop) - X-dimension and 4-blade work great without scary chine walk or porpoising - Tabs are rarely used unless we're stuck crossing Franks Tract on late afternoons as the wind/waves are scary at times LOL!

Excellent it sounds like my concerns are unfounded, if my wife wasn't about to go back to NP school I would be seriously interested in this setup.

Good luck with the sale!

Yes it came off a Hallett Vector - we put a modified turned-up lip on the upper edge Really helps prevent the wind blasts. Wish I could find another one for Vaughn 3 We used a windshield off a 24 Schiada on Vaughn 2 Some peeps hate the look but our driver & observer (wives) love em'! Happy wives = more skiing

They were made in Pacoima, ca. at Joe's Tooling. Joe built strong boats! I moved to Paso Robles though and I am Vaughn.
