Thanks For sharing. My uncle on my Mom's side settled in Vegas in the 50's.
Visiting him growing up is where my is where my adoration of Lake Mead comes.
He used to talk about Nelson quite a bit, but I've never been.
Another strange note, My Mom's family including this uncle, is from Coffeeville Kansas. Just a little weird.
Thanks again......

Thanks for sharing. This place looks like a lot of fun to just roam around in an afternoon.

Many years ago, while staying at Cottonwood Cove, we were blown out one day. Locals told us about Nelson, so we drove up there. Amazing Place. We were not disappointed.

Believe Nelson, Nelson’s Landing and El Dorado Canyon are all about the same place. It was El Dorado Canyon where the tragic summer time flash flood occurred in 1974. USGS states at least 9 were killed in that flood.

Friends of mine own the place. Super cool out there. They also do some bitchin mine tours. They will host events for you out there like weddings and stuff.

"Gold King"...the old man past away a few years back, but his boys still run it. He brought most of that stuff out from Lake Havasu! I went there with the family maybe 8 years ago, talked to him for quite awhile.

Very cool place, been there a few times. Wife’s family worked the mine, her uncles names are in the payroll book they have in the store. Go check out the caves between the mine and beach. Indian joe was rumored to hide out there. Lots of side caves with ladders and such
