Hello all;
A buddy of mine is moving cross country and trying to move a vehicle with him. U-haul and such get stupid with pricing as soon as you say you are leaving Ca with anything. The price literally triples. No joke, triples. He is looking to just buy a car trailer as its not going to be terribly more. It needs to be in decent shape overall with good tires and such.

Anyone know of something up for grabs?

I'm near Sacramento but could travel to get it if needed. Time is getting short on this. He is planning on rolling out later next week.

There are a bunch on Craigslist. Check and find something that's close to you that fits the bill. Sell it when he gets to the end of the line and recoup majority of the investment.

Look at dolly trailers…you can buy ‘em for under $1000, there’s only 2 tires to deal with, you can stand it up to lean against a wall. About the only downside is you can’t back up more than about 4 feet….

Hello all,

Well this turned out interesting..... We ended up running through all the ad sites and found one. The entertaining part is that the person was in a similar situation and bought new. It has been used once to move a vehicle and never has even completed registration. I am going to pick it up about 60 miles from my place. Picked it up for about 85% of new but it will be registered out of state he won't be paying California sales tax or getting raped on DMV. All said and done with these in consideration, its a new trailer for about $1500 less than just buying new.

We could not do a car dolly (my first thought also....) because the Mini is AWD. I do want to say that I appreciate everyone on here and their advice and thoughts. @82daytona Thank you for the offer, I was moving on this one already when I saw your post.

No I get to pick this up, inspect and get it ready for when my buddy flies in next week.
