I find it interesting that my company is closing on Jan 9th to mourn Jimmy Carter. I can't remember this happening for other presidents dying.

I think he was a decent well meaning president that was in way over his head. He lived a good long life and was from the days where we could disagree without being nasty and vindictive. Lived a good long life. Hell, he was my Commander In Chief when I was in the Army.

My son is in the army now and I am damn glad the Commander in Chief is no longer Biden and isn't going to be Harris.

My oldest grandson is going in after his AA is completed here shortly. We discussed holding off until there was a change at the top. I feel much better about his going in now.

Thank you to your son for his service.

Working construction we never officially observed a day of mourning, and have no idea why yours would be unless it's Federal. Apparently it began
with the death of Thomas Jefferson and has continued in it's current tradition since FDR.

Remind me again of his accomplishments as a president …I seem to have forgotten .
He really wanted to get this country started on nuclear energy. We would be a lot further on in "alternative power" than worthless solar panels & windmills.

He understood and gained that working under Rickover in the Navy.

Carter knew the benefits of nuclear power.

My first home purchase at age 22 was at a 13% rate and I had to pay 2 points to get that.
