We’re in Nashville for the weekend. First time here and so far so good. We arrived yesterday. This lake looked nice.

We didn’t really do the bars on Broadway yesterday but we will tonight.

We fid the party bus tractor ride through town and it was a ton of fun! It’s about an hour and a half tour through the city and an absolute party! I highly recommend it.

We hung in printers alley and listened to a good little band to close out day one.

My old stopping grounds. Have an older sister that lives about 20 miles northwest of there and my birthplace (Crossville) is 110miles east of Nashville where i have 100's of relatives. Good times everytime we go back there. God's country...

Going in October for our anniversary. Will be watching this for ideas. Wife wants to do the Grand Ole Opry and we already have tickets for it. Other than that we are wide open.

I love Second Fiddle next to Tootsies for my Broadway bar and Skulls Rainbow Room in printers alley is a great dinner spot.

Definitely, we walked in and everything smelled and looked so good, but you gotta have a reservation.

The blues and boogie bar next door has awesome music and cheaper beers.

Also Doc holidays down at the bottom of broadway.

We had the same reaction and I’ve grown to like whiskey. I call that a win.

I want to do this...if time permits can you detail out how you did your trip? Did you do one of the "tours" with everything set-up, planned it all yourself, winged it?

Thanks!

Most definitely! I’ll write it up in a bit!

Try to get on a lunch or dinner trip on the General Jackson! They usually have a band that plays all the music “that made Tennessee.” Outstanding show and quite good buffet food.

Don't forget the Ryman.
My sister goes there often for concerts.
It’s the Mother Church of Country Music, the birthplace of bluegrass, and the original home of the Grand Ole Opry where the careers of countless musical legends were launched. Constructed with stunning, unique acoustics and steeped in history, the Ryman offers something for everyone.
Among the most striking features of the Ryman are the original oak pews. The pews on the main floor are the original from 1895 and the balcony pews date back to 1897. In 1994 during the building renovation the Leeds Seating Company of Leeds, Alabama, removed all of the original 250 pews, 500 end pieces, and hundreds of support bases for restoration. A testament to their original craftsmanship and the talents of the Whitfield artisans, the pews were meticulously restored to their original glory and reinstalled in time for the June 1994 re-opening.

I was there before and after, yes, they did a great job.

What’s the best way to the distillery if you don’t want to rent a car? It shows 2 hours away and i don’t see a need to rent a car for four days.

We went to the CMA Fest was a great time.. Even the homeless people are polite there.
I have to say, I was really enjoying this thread until you mentioned CMA Festival and I suddenly threw-up a little in my mouth. No disrespect to you, I just can't stomach how WOKE CMA and CMT have become after what they've done with regard to Morgan Wallen and now Jason/Brittany Aldean. It is a downright disgrace how many people in Nashville (In the music industry) don't have balls anymore.
I fully agree with you about the way people treat everybody over there though, very respectful and polite. ☺️👍

"CMT Reinstates Jason Aldean Video, Fires Program Director Responsible"

Sandy Jerdusky, the longtime Program Director at CMT and the woke liberal who canceled the video has been fired and replaced with up-and-coming radio personality Joe Barron. Jerdusky made the decision to pull the video himself, the network said in a statement.
Well at least we won this one.

I’m gonna guess the Budlight train wreck has every company a bit jumpy. I’d bet that the guy who pulled the video had permission just like the AB team. Crazy when companies now to hate groups and piss off their main customer base.

I didn’t take too many pics the last couple of days. All in all, this was a really fun trip. Definitely checked off some bucket list items. The food was incredible. We had some great meals at Prince’s, The 12/30, Martin’s Bbq and others.

The vibe there is like no other. I highly recommend this trip and am glad we did it!

Thanks!

All credit goes to my wife. We had a large group of 10 people. Anytime you go on a trip with that many people it’s like herding cats.

She did a TON of research and created an itinerary which was pretty much down to the minute. Having a pre-plan really worked out great as the entire trip went smoothly.

We added and subtracted a few stops here and there but for the most part stuck to it.

The only thing I wished we added was a tour of the nearby civil war battlefields. However, that wasn’t in the cards with this group of people. We were on a mission to eat/DRINk Nashville’s finest!

The itinerary is below. Hopefully it helps your trip!

We booked an all-inclusive package which included transportation (in a nice charter bus) and a ticket for the tour.

Once the tour is completed you’re free to roam around. The small town of Lynchburg is a 5 minute walk to the distillery. It truly was beautiful.

It’s about an hour and a half drive each way. It was very easy and convenient however I would’ve liked more time to sightsee.

Zero regrets with the tour though. I believe it was $130.

We just got back from 4 days in Nashville and we had a blast. Here's a small sample of some of the things we did.

Old Town Hop On/Hop Off Trolley Tour
Walked up and down Broadway and Printers Alley
Did a little Day Drinkin at Ole Red and Kid Rocks.
Johnny Cash Museum (FYI - There's a Speakeasy underneath)
Goo Goo Chocolate
Tootsies Orchid Lounge
Ryman Auditorium Tour
Hattie B's Hot Chicken
Prince's Hot Chicken
Parlor Doughnuts (Best Donuts I've ever had, and I've had a lot, lol)
Concert at Grand Ole Opry
Jack N' Back Bus Tour (Jack Daniels Distillery Tour)
Helicopter Tour (Helistar Aviation)
Country Music Hall of Fame Tour
Jason Aldeans Rooftop Bar

We were kinda busy, lol.

Not at all. They split our bus into two groups. One group toured the distillery while the other had free time to explore Lynchburg. Mind you Lynchburg is extremely small, but there are some cool stores there. The main ones being the official J.D. merchandise and Harley Davidson. There were some great mom & pop shops which were great!

The J.D. store obviously had clothing and apparel. It also had misc. housewares. The highlight there for me was the wood shop where they repurpose all the old whiskey barrels. They had a ton of offerings including foot lockers, flower pots and rocking chairs, etc.

The groups switched after about an hour and a half or so.

My main gripe was we didn’t get a chance to eat. There was a bbq joint in town which the bus driver highly recommended. We just didn’t have the time to eat.

If you were to do the bus tour, I would suggest touring the distillery with the first group if possible.

I have zero regrets doing the bus tour. The bus was nice and the driver was funny and helpful.

You had a full schedule! Sounds like a great trip! Which did you like better Hattie B’s or Princes? We intended on trying both but we’re turned off by the line at Hattie’s.

Not at all. The Tour Company has it down like clockwork. Our group toured the distillery first, then afterwards we walked over to the town (which is like 300' away, lol) and had a BBQ Lunch and a few coldies. Then walked back to the distillery and hoped on the bus. Wouldn't wanna drive after sampling Whiskey then drinking beer for 2 hours. I Highly Recommend the Jack n' Back tour!!!

I also just got back from Nashville with nothing but good times had. My wife and I went for our anniversary and to see Blink 182, it was a great show bringing us back to our younger days!

We went to a lot of the bars spending the most time at Ole Reds due to the band, they were great and very entertaining. I was told you pick the bar based on the band playing, that was true for us.

We tried to go to to Jack Daniels as well, but didn't know about the tour buses. We thought we could UBER, but you cant! if you can find one that will take you there, you might not find one coming back, small town and no ride share drivers.... We thought about renting a car for the weekend but the cost per day seemed high and we figured we would have enough to do in town. We found Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, which began in 1909 at the 5th distillery in Tennessee. Prohibition shut the business down until the great great grandkids found out about their family legacy and resurrected it in 2010's. Cool story and good whiskey. This distillery is in Nashville so it is easy to get to.

https://greenbrierdistillery.com/

We also went to the Grand Ole Opry and took the tour, which was also very good and cool to see. In town we took the Johnny Cash tour as well but did not know about the speak easy..... Dang that would have been cool.

Heading out next week for a few days. Some great info in here for things to do so thanks in advance. One question for the group. We’re spending a night in Chattanooga, I’ve never been. Need a suggestion for hotel for the night and possibly dinner. Any ideas?
