My mom’s friend dog needs to be re-homed

This is from my mom. She just texted me about her friends dog. Her friend sent her this below.My mom is trying to figure out exactly where the dog is.

“An old friend of mine is in a terrible situation... so l thought I'd share. She is an amazing pet parent, animal lover, nurse, human being. She is also medically compromised and can no longer live independently; can't keep her dog.”


“I need to re- home my 6yr old 50 lb, female
lab/aussie mix, spayed, immunized.
I'm no longer able to keep her due to my worsening medical condition. I just moved from a house to a senior apt.

I've called everyone from Coachella Valley where I'm from to now OC.

I'm trying to save her life, I don't want to euthanize her.

All the websites are so hopeful until I call and either there's no room, she's too big, etc. and I get counseled in ways to keep her. If keeping her was a realistic option for me don't people understand that I would and I wouldn't be crying everyday at trying to find placement for her...

Sorry for the long narrative, I'm just so sad and frustrated.
Her name is Joey and she currently in a kennel in Aliso Viejo.

Update- My uncle contacted my mom about the dog already so my mom may go pick it up and take it to havasu for him. Will know more tomorrow. My mom is waiting to hear back from her friend.

Why a rehoming fee that means it's for sale

I’m guessing it is the policy of whichever place is fostering her at the moment. I wish my mom’s friend reached out before she placed her somewhere.
