Well this should be interesting. After a blitzkrieg 19 hour round trip drive…..a new project for some upgrades this winter. Will be fun.

Project? That focker looks clean!

More pics. Congrats to the kid? How old is he? Love the “passing of the touch” and getting the kids to catch the performance boat bug. 👍👍

its very clean......given its age.

i used to have a 21, he was driving it as soon as he could reach the pedal. and yeah he is only 21 but gets it.

not gonna change a ton on the boat, mostly just redo some things to make sure it safe and reliable. single biggest upgrade will likely be steering, the old morse dual cable deal is done and will have to be updated.

lol so this what kids are calling projects today? looks fully intact and complete.
it is. and except for the carb jetting needing to be changed (boat was used at a higher altitude) you could put it in the water today.

however......it is a 40 year old boat.......that said, with winter right around the corner, it will get some upgrades in the off season. already mentioned the steering concerns me, and a few other things that are original that simply du to their age, are going to be replaced.

no secret here, previous owner was firm on his price and based on the activity there was a line of willing buyers. it all boiled down to who showed up first with the $$$ and hence the reason to rush to get up there. The owner took a call right in front of us while we where there, another potential buyer willing to fly in and buy it the same day. he said "you can have it of this kid here right now doesnt take it"............

Great looking Schiada, congrats to your son 👍🏻! Looks to be maybe a ‘77 or ‘78, when you start helping him get after the upgrades and whatnot be sure to look closely at the stringers. My ‘77 looked great until one day I noticed the motor leaning, yep the stringer was rotten, would crumble in my hand. One thing turned to another and oh boy 😳……….

dude....

you and i have VERY different ideas about "project boats", you should see the shit I brought home at 25-26. I dont even think you could call them boats, they'd be more closely related to planters or yard art.

btw LOVE that the CF numbers end in SS, too fitting

lol when i say project......i am not talking down to bare glass restoration.

just need to make sure some of the older systems on the boat are SAFE.....he already has had it into the 80's and still learning to drive it. for sure the steering will be redone, probably a new rudder, some minor glass work and a few other things. the wiring is atrocious and will get a do over.

but i agree....its EASY for these things to snowball and get out of control.

You forgot converting to EFI :)
Of all people, and your background with EFI, it will happen.
