Well this shit sucks!

I haven’t drank coors light in a very long time, knocked some back last night.

Woke up with my fucking big toe on fire, swollen, can barely move it.

Shit fucking hurts.

I have been icing it. Took some advil this morning. Shit really doesn’t work.

I think it’s time to revisit what I been eating also.

What sucks is I had a weekend full of projects planned. Now I’m sitting on the couch being a lazy bum.

Yes. Just had it from too many beers and red meat. Gotta watch the diet because it is no joke!

My wife usually drinks a couple quarts of the pure tart cherry juice from Walmart and it's usually about 90% gone by the next morning. I mention Walmart because it's about $5.00 there vs $10-12 at most grocery stores.

I had that shit at age 21 while in the Army. Man that shit hurt. Just having the sheet touch my toe was excruciating. Cranberry juice, water have your uric acid checked when you see the Doc.

Trader Joe’s tart cherry. Has sediment in jar you have to shake it up. Down about 12oz every night a bedtime. Give it a week. Also has melatonin and some other minerals that will improve your sleep. I swear by it and keep it on hand always.

Colorado Belle, 2002ish.
Dressed up a bit, Wranglers, button up shirt and cowboy boots.
Sprinted up the grand stairway, no fucks given. (Quite a bit younger too, 32ish)
Next day could hardly walk.
Both feet, just on fire.
Ibuprofen, like 1000 mg, for a couple of days. Water, water, water.
I was probably dehydrated after the wobbly pops I consumed that weekend. A few days later gone.
Had a minor case a few years later, similar treatment.
Haven't had it since.

I had my first episode about a month ago. Woke up couldn't bend or put any pressure on my leg/knee. It started in my knee for about 2 or so days and had to be on crutches.

After about 2 or so days it transfered to my foot/big toe. That was the worst pain i've ever felt and wish it upon no one. I was icing taking ibprofin cbd cream and the works to help it. I finally got in to see my doctor and he put me on some meds and it went away within 24 hours, at least 90 percent of it. It took about another 2 weeks before I felt zero effects. Lifestyle changes are a must if you want to keep it under control and limit outbreaks.

lol i almost started same thread last week. Was diagnosed on Tuesday when i could even walk. I’ve had some pain in life from surgeries etc from my Crohn’s disease and this shit was right up there. And worse with my Crohn’s i already don’t do all the foods and drinks they say not to.
Keep hearing and reading about tart cherry gummy’s and plan to start this week when they arrive from Amazon.

I watched my Dad go through shingles. Rough is an understatement.

So being a kid I had Chicken Pox pretty bad so I went for the shots. So far so good.
I have all the luck, had it the fall of 2020 at 38 years old, i work with a lot of older guys and tell them all the time get that vaccine, and im so antivax so it sounds damned hypocritical.

Have had trouble with gout forever. Stared out taking indocin (reactive drug) , but very hard on ones stomach. Too much can create an ulcer. Finally my Doctor said throw it out. Prescribed Allopurinol, 300 mg daily been taking it for 30+ years never a flare up again.

Allpurinol for the win before that Gout would kick my ass for days to weeks at a time . Had it for many years and cherry juice and over the counter stuff never worked . Indomethicin for the pain did good but , it's too hard on my stomach . 25 years ago Dr put me on Allopurinol 100mg twice a day and cutting out food/drink that is high in Uric Acid works for me . Never had a serious attack in years . If I ever feel any signs of an attach coming on I take Colchicine and it goes away quick .

Ate some cherries last night and my buddy gave me some of his gout drugs during the afternoon. I woke up with almost zero pain and inflammation. Thank god!

We've posted about gout before so here it goes again. Your flare up doesn't happen over night. It usually takes 2-3 days prior on what your intake of food and what you've had to drink. It takes that long for the sugar intake in what ever you had to eat to crystalize then it's the crystallization of said sugar that gets into your joints. I usually had it in my big toe, fingers and the most painful for me was behind my knee cap. When you have a flare up, think back 2-3 days on what you consumed. For me I cut out cinnamon roles, white rice, absolutely no wine and it does hit me mildly after a few beers which I've also cut down on. Looks like you'll be getting a prescription of COLCHICINE. I asked my pharmacist if I know I'm gonna pound them on a river weekend or just working around the house can I take the Colchicine before I start pounding the beers? He looked at me like I was nuts and said absolutely not.

I've had it since I was 21. Tried every at home remedy there is with no luck ever. I have drank more cherry pills and juice, limon extract, apple cider vinegar, ibprophen, and of course the allopurinol . Generally spend a week at a time in pain and finally go to the dr. They give me a shot and the pain is gone instantly, follow that up with the 7 days of pills. Now if I feel the onset I just go to the dr.

Dehydration was what would cause a flair up for me. Once I figured that out, I've made staying hydrated a priority. Any time I feel a flair up coming on I take a bunch of Aleve and pound water.
