I met and heard Doyle several times in Nashville in the 80's and early 90's at the C.A.S.S. conventions, he's definitely one of the premier fingerstyle players in the world today. Some of those thumbs down might be about his personality, he was pretty full of himself in those days, seems to have mellowed a bit from what I see on video today.
