This is a show all about the illicit weed trade, and about how many people have disappeared up there. I watched the first two episodes. Pretty eye opening.

My best friends brother went up there back in the 80's... never came back. They found a couple driving his truck a couple months later, but never found his body.

I watched the whole thing.. Starts off with missing weed trimmers and ends freakin crazy with vigilante justice and the people of the mountain taking things to the next level. Lol.

I am blown away that the cops are scared to go up there and are being escorted around by guys on atv’s with guns etc.. in a state that would literally crucify you for no helmet. Kind of mind blowing and enticing st the same time. They are definitely living “free” up there compared to the rest of the state.. Shame it is all because of an illegal trade though.

Interesting and depressing show. Didn't finish watching it as I got the message. Don't mess with the growers and if you aren't part of their underground business you don't belong there and you may end up missing.

I heard the cartels are involved in growing now because the state has so badly screwed up the marijuana growing business they're the only ones who can grow, make $$$ and survive the BS associated with it.

2 little girls (5&7) went missing on Friday in Humboldt County in the Mountains and they were found Sunday alive. They said they were following a deer and got lost.

The show changed direction towards the end..

The kid that went up there and was partners that disappeared got killed.. Some dips hit on the mountain was bragging about it, so seven guys got together went up to his house and pistol whipped the shit out of him until he took them to the body. They made his ass dig him up and put him in the back of the truck and dropped the body off at a hospital.

The cops were informed of all this, but the killer ended up getting away Scott free because what they did wasn't legal (forced confession etc.. no proof).

Then new vigilante shit comes out, and this guy kills one of the seven, and shit starts going down hill fast. Being that it's all true, it was pretty mind bending. LOL.

Wow, talk about a flash back. Same thing happened to a good friend of mines younger brother about the same time. I guess he was a sleep in a trailer care taking or whatever and was shot in his sleep. Really fucked up my friend in the head because of it.

Isn't it all kind of a "live by the sword, die by the sword" type of deal? I used to always think of "potheads" as the hippie types, laid back and mellow. As it has now become big business, it's kind of the wild west. It would appear a lot of the big players are not upstanding citizens. If one chooses to work around those types, they should have a better idea than most what the risks are. Best case scenario is prison? Not my cup of tea...

Watched it awhile ago. Too many people are stupid when it comes to the dangers of any drug trade. We've had discussions on here where people actually tried to argue the legalization would take care of the crime rate associated with weed. Too stupid to realize it just changes form (it being the crime) and the violent acts continue.

I feel bad for the family's of those who lose someone to that type of shit... but I don't feel bad for them. Just like what Monkeywrench said "Live by the sword, die by the sword". Same shit I tell my kids about me being a cop and the possibility of me being shot. If you go in knowing the risks then you accept the outcome.

Medical Marijuana...
I have friends that took two over-the-counter pain or doctor ordered pills (opioids) but the pain would wake them up at night, the drugs were hard on some of their gut/stomachs or just did not work. I'm not a fan of Norco/Vicodin etc as I have had 9 surgery's in the last 10 years to relieve pain so I encourage my friends to go and apply for a medical marijuana card and give it edibles a try. According to the Mayo Clinic, there is scientific evidence to support that marijuana is effective for relieving pain, but it’s still illegal on the federal level so don't take it out of state.
Legalizing marijuana for adults would communicate acceptance of its use and likely decrease the use of opioids and alcohol , but there is opposition to legal marijuana as this would reduced the alcohol, prison suppliers, casino and pharmaceutical company's bottom dollar.

One thing to keep in mind when you become a "medical" marijuana user. The Feds still consider marijuana an illicit drug and controlled substance. As such, use or abuse of illicit drugs is a bar to possessing or purchasing a firearm, and makes anyone with a "medical" marijuana card, a prohibited possessor. This is regardless of whether marijuana is legal for medical or recreational use in the State.

Checking the NO box on the ATF Form 4473, regarding drug use, while in possession of a MM card, is falsifying the application, punishable by 5 years in prison and fines.

I wouldn't mind trying it for my chronic back pain, but with the firearm restrictions, it looks like I'm stuck destroying my liver on Motrin and Naproxen.

If you don't want the high related to weed then you should try CBD Oils or edibles. They really do work.

I think SocalDave was talking to you.. but try the CBD oils, they are reported to be very effective and no THC.

99% pure CBD when lab tested. Cartridge is same price wholesale but sells for more than THC cartridge. Big market.

Friend lived in Humboldt for a few years. Some crazy trips visiting him. It was a long drive would stop in Chico which is 500 miles then up there another day driving. One of huge operations was behind his property. They got so big town turned on them for killing the market. Feds came in and shit it down. I have pictures somewhere. Nice beautiful homes they built back in the hills abandoned. Huge multi level grow barns. We went down the wrong road when exploring out there. It almost ended badly came up on another operation still active. Imagine now no issues as legal and no need to grow out in the hills. Just get a warehouse like everyone else.

Sorry for the thread-jack...
Does the CBD oil have any nasty side effects? Does it work pretty good on pain? Would it qualify me to loose my 2A rights? Lots of surgeries and hardware in my spine, and they tell me more surgeries or drugs to lose the pain. I don't want the opioid route, but if CBD stuff will mess with my liver and kidneys too, I'll just keep on keepin' on. No more surgeries on my spine...Xrays look like an erector set:(
