I can’t help but think “damn that’s a big boat for outboards”. But from what I’m hearing it’s pulling decent numbers and from the article I read on SOTW Randy seems pleased with the acceleration on it..
I haven’t examined it under a microscope but my only comment (for me because I’m half crippled) would he I wish there was a second step going from the cabin to the transom.
The one thing I do think is way ahead of the game that nobody has pointed out.. it might be big for 450’s but everyone and their brother knows that Mercury is releasing larger outboards at some point in the near future. Lots of rumors about what they will be but I can assure you having known people personally that work at Merc racing.. unless you work there you don’t know for sure. They keep those cards pretty close to the vest.
