Hey Guys,

What do you suggest for a Giant Tool Box move? In the past, I had a U-haul with ramp. But that was sketchy to say the least.

Now I just need to move my box, and it about .5 miles from my office to home where I am bringing it.

Tow Company? Lift Gate rental? Thanks!

Last time I called in my car needed a tow to AAA and gave the drive $50 to take two boxes rather than my car. Can't guarantee it works for you but so easy if it does.
Great idea:) Hmmmmm, may need to try that!

The other option is to rent a "Drop Deck Trailer"

We need a pic of said tool box!

Love me some tools and tool boxes!

Nothing major, just the Costco stainless stackable from back in the day, but loaded with my tools and all organized! Heavier than shit. lol

Yeah flat bed tow truck or your tool guy. I had my tool guy. He came to my house and use his truck to load my box on my flat bed when I moved it to Havasu.

I always call my buddy with a flat bed tow truck. Use the winch to drag it up then strap it down. Works like a dream

I removed all drawers, tools still in them. Stacked with cardboard in between. Wheeled the empty cart up the moving truck ramp.

Large box. 2 guys.

Did the exact same thing when I moved my Listas from the old house to he new. Took a little time but was safe and easy.

Going shop to shop is pretty easy, use hoist arms to pick up box, place in bed of any truck. Use new hoist at new facility to take off.

Tow truck flat bed or low boy trailer are your other options.

If it's just a small costco top/bottom box try to remove the top box from the bottom and load them separately. helps keeping them from being too top heavy. That worked well for my 56" husky box before it got completely full. Now that I am out of room, I will probably remove all of the drawers for my next move.

That's how I did it the first time. Took hours and was a major pain in the azz.

Eighty bucks for a flat bed and I just stood there and watched.

I was smiling ear to ear the whole time! :D

Find someone with a low boy car trailer.
Thats what my buddy did when he moved his 13' long Matco box from Galpin to his new job. Said it cost him about $250 but was totally wprth it. Granted, that thing had to weigh a couple tons with how big it is, how full it was, and how big the tools are he had (was a diesel mechanic there).

Wrap a strap around the box also just to be safe, the locks can and will break allowing the drawers to open during transport (ask me how I know... lol)

An enclosed trailer with ramp door works well too if you can borrow one from a friend.

Damn you even put a condom on it!

I bought that box new in 2004. It sits in the garage with the cover on most of the time. That's the original plastic that came with it in the box from Snap-On. I could pull the tools out and probably sell it as new today. :)

Sounds like you don't work on shit very often.

I have moved my tool box twice. First time emptied all the drawers into plastic containers, pulled the drawers them selves and loaded the tool box into a pick up with ramps. Other time I just rented a box truck with a lift gate and rolled it on full.

This is what I moved with a fork lift trailer. Rolled it on full from my old dealership job and rolled it off straight into my garage. Easy peasy

I used for my safe and my tool box a 4x10 or something like that uhaul trailer, real low cheap and has a ramp gate. They are an expanded metal ramp so just use some 1x8’s on each side to roll it up.

Make sure the floors are good.. the wheels on a tool box will pop through the plywood, because the weight is so concentrated on small wheels..
