Dad’s Sanger has a modified stinger mount motor plate to a rail setup. I would like to go to a regular motor plate and bell housing for a rail setup. I have a bunch of different motor plates but no extra bell housings. Anyone got something collection dust in the back of their garage?

I re-rigged a friends Sanger a few years back, the engine was mounted with a variety of mounts and I ended up using something similar to what you have there. I cut the crap out of it and shaped to look a bit better IMO. I would start by widdeling that thing down and then if you dont like it go to option B. I cut the one below down a ton, it had 4 or 5 inches of material above where I mounted it. that bellhousing looks to be chrome plated as well strip that shit off clean it up polish and get it cerakoted it will look bitchen. I am eventually stripping my flat to have all the hardware cerakoted was just wanting to see how it holds up and so far pretty impressed.

curious question for you. I have a velvet in my hallett and need to figure out a driveshaft collar. did you have those made or did you purchase it from somewhere?

I used the original unit off the boat, see middle pic below, I had it turned down in a lathe to match the contour of the velvet drive, I made a flat plate that sides over the drive shaft mounting flange and mocked everything up the just bolted the ring to the flat plate. There is not a lot of room to mount this the tube has to slide over the rear housing of the flange or the flange will hit the tube and make noises. call me if you want 562-879-9508
