2025, the year of the price increases.

The insurance company asked to approve a rate hike that would be 22 percent for the average California homeowner. The price increase would go to 15 percent for condo owners and 38 percent for rentals as the company is on the line for damages from the recent wildfires.

The wonderful CA Fair Plan with a separate DIC policy. I imagine the DIC wont change in costs much since its like renters insurance, but the Fair Plan gets its pricing from somewhere so if they have a set baseline and raise that baseline?

Considering how expensive the Fair Plan already is, I hope everyone else just catches up to our pricing. Once everyone is howling about the price of insurance maybe some one will finally do something.

Well typically we don't have seasonal things like blizzards, tornados, hurricanes or floods, so I can kind of see why. These are things that will show up every year and can't be stopped, its Mother Nature, and happens over large portions of the country.

Fires, which can be seasonal in CA if you base it off strong winds could be preventable if state and local leaders didn't have their collective heads up each others asses. Because nearly all these fires are human started not due to natural causes and nearly all of them didn't have to happen if we shot arsonists and forced everyone to build to fire standards and forced property clearance.
