I will be in Maui soon for a couple of weeks. Hopefully no haze from the volcano.

Side bar.... One of the scariest times in my life was when Oahu got hit by a decent size one back in college. I woke up (I think 23 stories up), to my ceiling fan dancing above my head. Power was out and I took the stairs down to get the hell out of that building.

We took the one hour helicopter ride two days ago over the volcanoes and I’m telling you the US geological survey is a little worried right now.

this place is ready to do some action they think pretty soon but only the goddess Palle’ knows.

So in the meantime it’s 945 here, am., which means it’s close to noon and Havasu and…..

There’s been a few decent size quakes around the islands of over the years. Last big one on the big island was like 10 years ago I want to say. Broke some stuff. Cracked some streets. Shits a living volcano, gonna get some movement. Lol.

I’ll have to dig up pics I have from the the 84 eruption. We were there and it was VERY unsecured. Have pics of lava inching its way across streets, burned out cars and partial structures. They’d just lay road closed signs across the highway and 100yards on the other side lava was crossing the street. Pretty trippy.

Maybe time to sell your place there.;)

What will happen to the Hawaiian Islands in the future?

Image result for are hawaiian islands moving

The island erodes and the crust beneath it cools, shrinks and sinks, and the island is again submerged. Millions of years from now, the Hawaiian Islands will disappear when the edge of the Pacific plate that supports them slides under the North American plate and returns to the mantle.

Actually might be selling it soon, maybe. We’ll see.

A good example of that phenomena would be in the Tahiti Island chain. Best known would be BoraBora.

Did anyone else grow up and hang ti leaves on their front door?
Was a peace offering and good luck to have Pele pass you without harm?

We also used to hang them from the stinger pipes on our VW's when we went to the drags for good luck.
