My mother lives with Mrs FBT and I, she is now 93 and her hearing and eyesight are not what they once were.
She is still in touch with several of her old friends, she volunteered for 25 years with Hospice of the Foothills at their thrift store, and i am thankful she is still engaged with that group.
She likes to "chew" on current events before sharing her take.
She still surprises me.
We were talking about the election last night and she remarked that one of the key driving factors in the failure of the democrat party is what it has been for most of her life.
Arrogance.
Simple arrogance.
Of course she is correct, but to hear it from a woman who was born dirt poor in 1931, and who to this day remembers Pearl Harbor, remembers collecting metal for scrap drives, who just had a damn tough life while young...well it sorta drove it home.
Arrogance.
She remembers how the public was led to believe that Walter Mondale was gonna wipe the floor with Ronaldus Magnus in 1980. She remembers the lamentations from the dems and their minions in the media after that... about how the public was simply too dumb to see the inherent brilliance of the minds of the left. Same thing with just about every other democrat failing since...the most glaring example (until now) was Hillary getting spanked by Trump in 2016.
Back then were were supposed to be a bunch of deplorables, uneducated fools who again, simply could not grasp the greatness that was hillary, nor could we understand that she was simply the next in a long line of democrat geniuses who was positioned to answer the call of the unwashed masses...
We were simply too stupid to not understand how the world wanted Hillary, that she was ready to save the world and us with it. This is why she lost.
We are too dumb.
And now, with Joe Biden calling us garbage, and the left telling us we should be ashamed of ourselves for not running to Kamala, the first woman of color to run, that we were too stupid to see the incredible skill she had, that she was poised to save the world....once again.
If you pay attention to the talking heads this week as they spin this ass whoopin'...it stands out like a sore thumb...arrogance.
They will spend about 30 seconds talking about re imagining their party, reconnecting with the public, but right after that it all boils down to one thing...and while they don't always use the words, listen to how they see us, the only barrier between their ascension to eternal greatness is our ignorance.
The only reason, the only possible reason there could be for us not joining their party and deferring all the important choices in our lives to their infallible intellect is our collective stupidity.
We are too dumb to understand their brilliance, their political genius, and the unquestionable, unshakeable fact that Only The Democrats can Save us from ourselves.
