Was just talking with a buddy other day on how bad ass i think it’d be to build a modern Phantom Dually
I had this same discussion with an old buddy on the way back from Havasu last weekend. When I was in high school my neighbor had a fire truck red dually tubbed with big ass Mickey Thompsons in the rear and a pound stereo. At 14 I thought it was the coolest vehicle on the planet. Would love to do a modern take on it.

I went by the AVI yesterday to check them out. They hadn’t open the gates yet but I saw a bunch of bad ass trucks in the West parking lot waiting to get in. I’ll go back this afternoon or tomorrow. Last year it was a great show.

What's the world coming to when you can't drive your dually to the river.

The first image that popped into my head when I saw the thread was a 620 Datsun with fender flares, wide tires, air dam and a GT Spoiler.

I'm dating myself.
Word.....my first car in high school was an 81 Datsun 720 pickup.....lowered on polished Enkeis....Cali Style......then I went to a 62 Rag Bug......then back to an 89 S10 Blazer dropped on chrome Irocs.....lol.....awww, the good Ole days. :D

My older cousin had a Nissan Hardbody with a shell on air shocks and enkeis. I was like 10. Loved that truck.

My first car / truck. Wish I had some better pics and more pics. by the time I sold it, I had shaved the door handles, wood dash, side swing open tailgate, and a standard tilt bed. I bought it wrecked (it had been rolled). I did all the work myself except body paint (interior, built the lowering kit, door handles, etc... ) myself in shop class. It was nice at the time, but very basic compared to what mini's evolved into.

Was my best friend's truck... Corvette Yellow

And still best friends!

Never got around to painting the Courier, sold it and bought this after graduation.

That's what I got into a few years ago. I have huge stash of vintage van accessories, bubble windows and vintage electronics saved up for a rust free B100 shorty. This van got tagged by a drunk driver while I was trying to finish it. I haven't checked in a few years, but plexi bubble windows were going for crazy money on eBay.

Now imagine this ride with a legit rollercammed 500HP small block, on a wheel dyno, that truck ruled the street drags in the late 80s. She had filled in intake ports, pre LS fuel injection day, when no one was doing that yet. That ol girl would top off the front wheels with slicks on it. She was fun to pedal and was a challenge to shoe with street tires. :)

All the "cool" kids at my HS had T/A's, IROC's and other new cars. I was in a crowd of outcasts with my '67 Camaro, a '70 Camaro and a GTO Judge. One thing for sure, cars kept me in the garage and out of trouble.

Everyone made fun of my gold chevelle. Only had 37k miles on it so my dumbass sold it. And kept the camaro because it pulled p...y.

My cousin had a Luv with just a stockish 327 in it. It was insane even with a stocker in it. Can't imaging something pumped up.

I bought a Buick v-6 for mine, but I never got around to putting it in before I sold the truck.

Yes some of the drunkest nights of my life were with my car club at La Paz in Parker, Laughlin or Havasu Landing
