Not how I wanted to start the kids summer vacation.

Got in late last night

Turned on all 3 mini splits in the garage. Went to bed.

Wake up go to the garage and 2 out of 3 mini splits throwing a EL 0C code.

Turned them off. Gave it a few mins and turned them back on.

They will run for about an hour or 2 and then throw the code again.

Ugh frustrating. Only 3 years Carrier units. Any ideas?

I guess I should be glad it’s only the garage.

Freon leak. low freon. Best way is to clean and redo connection at condenser that looks like it has been leaking. Then evacuate and refill with correct amount of freon

95% of all refrigerant leaks on ductless systems are at the flare fittings on one end or the other.
What’s the fix?

crank the crap out of the nut
or
A little dope / sealant on the mating surfaces

asking for a friend

Making a proper flare on the tubing is probably beyond some techs, and I imagine the flaring tool sets used these days aren't that great. It may need a do over.

Actually thr new flaring tools are FAR better than the old ones. Flares are SUPER common now-a-days since all the VRF based equipment uses them for their line connections.

Usually caused by under-reened pipe creating a bur on the flair then when the connection is still leaking it is over-torqued and tears the copper of the flair.
