I grew up in Michigan City, IN. Just under half my life at this point. My time there is straddled by time in Vegas which is where I am now.

Short story of when I first showed up in M.C. it was Jan 1992 so cold and snowy. My new step brothers and I head down to Lake Michigan and are climbing on what at the time I thought were just snow/ice covered earth. Come to find out we are probably 50-75 yards into Lake Michigan and are playing on frozen waves. We were all one year apart at 10, 11 and 12 and I've always been the more adventurous out of us three so I don't think they actually new the risk we were in. That next spring I was surprised to see just how far I was out into the water and I remember thinking of what could happen if one of us fell through a pocket. Needless to say, that scared the shit out of me. We would still go out there in the winters to come but I vividly remember keeping it close to where I thought the shore was. Here are a few pics I found on the net to help illustrate.

It's 58* here in San Diego this morning. I'm pissing and moaning cuz I have to wear long pants and a sweatshirt. I have the little electric heater under my desk keeping my feet warm. LOL

I have a couple to see on the way up but my turn around point is ProPower in Sullivan... I have one closer to Chicago and another towards Milwaukee... It is a long drive up and hopefully around a 5 1/2 hour drive back to Indy... Makes for a long drive but always worth it! I just checked and Sullivan is supposed to have a high of 19 while bright and sunny!

I wish for the life of me I could remember John’s last name. He owned advantage transmissions, guy was a genius. Built boats (and other things if you know what I’m talking about)from scratch in his shop. Super cool old timer.
