Can't find the article, but read somewhere that on the big center consoles (35'-42') adding engines over 3 only increased top end something like 4mph per additional engine. I'm a sure a lot depends on the boat, set-up, load, props, etc (all of the usual suspects) but the bottom line of the article was that extra engines add less top end than you might think on most of these applications.. i.e law of diminishing returns come into play big time.

Would be interesting to hear from someone (more qualified) weigh in with some real world numbers.

I had the pleasure of riding and driving in two MTI 34 cats. One had 400’s and the other had the new 300 v-8s. Unreal boats - everything is just so awesome on them.

I had the pleasure of riding and driving in two MTI 34 cats. One had 400’s and the other had the new 300 v-8s. Unreal boats - everything is just so awesome on them.

I will move the DW over to my garage to make room for the new boat!.

I agree it could and should be cleaner. Looks like the joystick controlled steering actuators could have their hydraulic lines and electrical wiring come in from underneath.

Mine is on a jackplate that’s got 5” of travel, but those are stationary I believe.

They could certainly be cleaned up.

Maybe the swim step should go all the way to the engines and cover everything up, as well as provide boarding of passengers.

I literally took 1,000’s of photos while I was there. I want to go back today but Stacy wants to go do tourist stuff. So today we are going to do that and we are going to push our plane tickets back for the second time now and head home Tuesday. Lol. I’ll do the Boatshow again Monday when all the crowds are gone.

Years ago, at Lake Powell, we camped next to a couple that was from Florida. They couldn't believe we were running a (at the time) 15 year old Mercury O/B. They said after 5 or 6 season in the salt water and brackish inland waterways that the engines would just be shot, time to bolt on a new one!

There ceartainly is a "LAM!" element to having 8 O/B's on the back of your boat though...

I dig the cc, but some of them aren't set up very fisherman friendly . Too many nooks and crannies for fish guts. I wouldn't be fishing out of one with that cloth interior.( can't remember what its called)

Those are set up for "clam" fishing, not bait fishing...

There is absolutely nothing like the Miami Boat Show. Takes a number of days to see it and then you'll probably not see it all. True Bucket List kind of show. It's the Lake Powell - Key West level kind of stuff for a boater. One of a kind. And Miami provides good weather and plenty of great places to stay, eat and drink. Thanks for the report.

I liked the look of this carrera. Not a lot of seating in the boat but it was really nice inside and out. I got the impression they were trying to reinvent themselves as a brand. The guy was telling me the stepped hulls were new, new owners of the company etc.
