I remember the first time I met RD, I was traveling around Europe seeing the sights and ended up at the Vatican. There was a huge crowd gathering, so being curious I followed along. Anyways there is thousands of people standing around and RD is standing right next to me so we start talking. He begins by telling me his name is RiverDave from Carlsbad California and he knows everybody. I get a little chuckle and he says what you don't believe me? to which I answer no! He says I'll prove it to you, in a little bit the pope is gonna come out on that balcony and bless the crowd, I'll run up there and have him do a special blessing directly at you after his initial crowd blessing. I'm thinking this has been rich and chalk it up to another of the various characters I have crossed path with. Anyways he splits but a little while later the Pope comes out on the balcony with RD standing beside him. He blesses the crowd and then points directly at me and spins one off for me. I have to admit I was pretty surprised so I ask the guy next to me, Is that really the pope up there? and he replies I dunno if thats really the pope but the guy standing next to him is RiverDave from Carlsbad California.
