Stopped by an old friend in the boat business in Long Beach last week. Beyond dead, and any sales are just above cost due to high flooring. It is a mess. Last time I saw this is when Carter was in office, we saw boat loans go to 12%, and everyone folded in months. That is when Tahiti folded in Cerritos.

Yep we were shopping in ‘19 and prices on new boats have nearly doubled since then. I have other toys and hobbies that I’ll stick with for now.

I drove by Anderson in Havasu today, when I bought my Turbo R, there were no pro r’s for sale and the turbo r I bought was literally the only long travel unit they had. Anderson had a lot full of RZR’s, today. Like 100 of them sitting outside. That’s a lot of inventory and money sitting there.

Not related to Mercury but just saying toys are not like they were during Covid.

I agree. Have you seen a slow down on used sales? Seems used is still moving but not new as quickly?

Seems like the new toy sales market is taking a beating. I sure as hell can’t afford to buy anything new.

These layoffs are going to start having an effect on the economy.

Like to think i positioned myself well for any down turns. But you just never know till you go through it.

Economy has been ripping along for ten years! Maybe we are due for a correction.

Anderson was 10k higher on each rzr model and can am when I was in there. They have a 2023 waverunner like mine and my friend was interested they wanted 4500 more than I paid from them. They want over 2500 on top of msrp for old stock yamaha superjet.

But I have noticed toy prices and truck prices coming down. Nothing like 2018 prices though. I am looking kinda for a 2018 or newer chevy express van extended. Nothing. And new They are 15k more than 4 years ago.

New boats from what I heard are 100% mark up. Not many can afford them. I remember in 2000 when a new 21' Ultra with 350 and alpha or 454 jet was $25K plus tax with trailer and Bimini. Now $75K for similar.

I went by Anderson / AZ West in LHC recently and was shocked all the unsold rolling stock and the severe price markups.
Best deals we find are in Casa Grande'. Significantly cheaper.
We always walk out of Andersons locations empty handed.

Prices are high enough already, mark ups are ridiculous.

When pontoon boats suitable for Havasu cost 200k the gig is up.

Well not for the ballers maybe?
When the $225K toons' hit $300K, the ballers we know that owned them knew a windfall when they saw it, took advantage and sold.
Still some crazy pricing out there.
Not going to be that guy that paid too much for his boat.
