When I retire in a year or so wife and I are going to buy a motorhome. I have had a Rexhall and a Tiffon Alegro. Both were class A. I have heard a lot of not so good about Thor Motorhomes. Thinking of getting a 2 or 3 year old with low miles. Any recommendations on the good and bad ?? Really like the idea of a small Mercedes diesel. It will be just the 2 of us. Don’t need room for the kids. Thoughts or recommendations?

Our friends have one
They are getting rid of it asap after a few years

If something needs to be fixed on power train
Go to mercedes shop
If the coach needs fixing go somewhere else

To them this is an issue
Me not so much

Other then there 30 something son putting gas in the tank instead of diesel fuel
It’s been flawless. Lol

Thinking because it has Mercedes badges
And it’s not going to rattle like a house on wheels . Is an issue for them

You get where I’m going with this

So they are getting rid of it and buying a pull trailer ?

Will see how that goes . Because he says it won’t me as much work

I stayed silent .

Good luck
I think there nice.

I looked hard at a Thor but passed. They are definitely not like your Tiffin

We looked at them but opted for a class C for more towing capacity over the class B Benz(or dodge).
The future servicing/repairs needed also gives you more options with a domestic drivetrain.

Thor is the WORST manufacturer of RVs, do not buy anything that is a Thor brand.

But the Tiffin family still runs the brand. Plus you can still call Bob Tiffin for assistance.
I’ve heard otherwise about Bob after the buyout . Not a lot of happy people on the Tiffin group with a Thor backed Tiffin’s

If you buy a motorhome these days , you better know which end of the screwdriver to use because no repair facility seems to .
