What is your price range? I happen to own a 25' bullet that is in excellent condition. It's not for sale but everything is for sale.

Looking to spend about 50k, maybe more for the "right" boat.

Just my .02 but you might want to also look into 2000'ish Warlock 25 and 27 World Class V's with the serpentine step design. 24 degree V if you run in some rougher water but very efficient hull at higher speeds in calm water. They built many in the MCOB layout. Not the build quality of the Howard or Lavey but a lot of boat for less money.

I have a 2003 mcob 28 Howard Bullet I purchased from Gene at Howard Boats this Spring with 319 Hrs. on a Mercury 500efi power plant. I purchased the boat and trailer in absolute Mint condition and it still is spotless. Graphics are the best ever. It is heavily optioned with color matching Dana tabs, Dana Hyd. engine hatch hinges, blower vents, battery hold downs, ect.
I purchased the boat knowing that the engines were ready for their mercury recommended Valve spring maintenance done. (All 500's require this at aprox 300 hrs.) The boat is scheduled with Mark @ Precision Marine in Louisiana this winter. My plans were to have the cam changed out to the 525 cam, aluminum heads with Isky springs, a reprogram of the computer and lastly pull the pan and freshen the lower end. I don't do things half assed. Fresh means Fresh. not a partial freshening. Engine would be 600HP completed and turn key. Boat should run low 80's
This boat is not in your 50K price range but it can be bought either as is or completed with the scheduled maintenance work. If your curious about this beautiful boat I can direct you to photos. Also you can ask Gene at Howard about this boat at Howard boats. I purchased it from a long time friend of his under his recommendation. Price as is 65K, completed would be 72K.

Mike.
Go to RD's Forum and scan down till you see a post I started about 2 months ago that says "Whipple or no Whipple" and you will see a bunch of photos.
I started the post because when I purchased the boat it had the wrong prop on it and would only run 70mph on both my tattle tale Gps and my hand held Gps. The boat has 319 hrs. on the computer and has been pampered its entire live as you will se in the photos of not just the boat but the trailer as well!
After researching the Whipple I've decided it's just to pricy at 27K to do it RIGHT. That's why my goal is too keep a compressor off of her and do the 525 cam, aluminum heads, Isky valves and springs and computer upgrade which is a strong 600Hp which is perfect for these boats. They don't need more than 600hp even know they can handle it.
Let me know if you cant find the photos!
Thanks,
Dan LaBonte

Try looking at Boat Trader. Right now there are 5 28' Bullets. 4 MCOB and 1 closed deck.

Would you believe everyone of them are sold and have been for a long long time. I know I called them all back in late 2015.

If you want to know the difference between this and a Bullet let me know. Friend has a Bullet I have a 260 we both just got back today from the River.

Good thing he isn't looking for just a "bullet". So why not add Cobra to the list of mfg he suggested?

If he needs more room Cobra is way to go. It has a much bigger mid cabin also. I am a Bullet fan but the Cobra works better for Me. Not saying to not look at Cobra. This 260 is Clean I like it.

Lavey is running a special for a 24 Lavey for mod seventies brand new and loaded. Your almost all the way there on the price point anyways. I'd call Chris down there and see what he will do on a 26

Thanks for the heads up on the Lavey. It is a nice boat I saw a few more pics of it.

After searching for the last few months I decided I gotta have a Bullet.

I found a super clean 28 Bullet that I will be test driving in a couple of weeks.

I love this forum!! There is so much great info and so many members that take the time to help each other out.

Did u find a MCOB bullet or are you having to cut it open? I'm going to cobra performance boats on Monday/Tues to spend som time with Hernando. Either getting a 26 Razor or building a new one.

I found a factory MCOB. Howard has two different molds for the 28 Bullet, one closed bow and one open bow. I definitely did not want to get one that was modified to an open bow.

Good luck on your new Razor.

Most shit on powerboat listing is old, hell my boat is on there from 5 years ago and the person who owned it tried everything to clear it.
