After reading about RD cavitation plates and better performance I have been looking on the internet and could not find a quality one out there. I stoped by Max Machine Worx after watching RD videos and spoke to Aaron and what a quality person he is.
They have a polish one and satin finish.
If you are looking for a cavitation plate for your mercury bravo drive this is the place.

I Bought one a couple of weeks ago to use on my Howard 21. Haven’t had a chance to mount it yet.

Made a massive difference for me. A little pricy (I’m cheap) but worth it

I am curious to see if this will help out with the porpoise problem we have seeing. Get that thing mounted already and report back lol

Have one on my 26 Shadow Deck.
Added one after talkin to Teague and getting some setup advise for how he setup a couple 27 Shadows.

Well if you’re running it off and on, you may be able to give a great unbiased review. Why without once you went to it and why did you not immediately reinstall
Because I can’t leave shit alone. When I make a change I like to run it at least a day or more to get a overall feel for the difference. I had initially installed it when I changed to the 2” shorty. So I needed to try the shorty without it. Than changed to longer tabs and wanted to see the difference, than tried differant style props (transom vs bow lifting) I was also concerned it may adding drag but never noticed any signs of that. Overall it worked better on my boat every time I installed it. Better planning and smother thru the afternoon washing machine slop. Not a huge difference but definitely noticeable. Pretty inexpensive upgrade in boat dollars.

So what’s the price. I’ve seen both cheap and expensive in this thread, so what is it? Cause now I’m curious, especially because UL likes it on his 210.

This cracks me up, For years people here would rag on those cav plates, but since Max Machine makes them, Its all good,

My 98 Nordic had handling issues. We made ten different cav plates and tested them. The one that ended up on the boat actually was fairly similar to the MMW cav plate. That was back in 1998.

My Schiada also has a cav plate on it, albeit more stylish.

You’ve never heard me poking fun at these things.. lol. I think most boats benefit from them!

In my defense that video was recorded five weeks ago before I left for Parker. It was just too good of an opportunity at humor to pass up. Lol

They are even sexier now, all laser printed with their name and logo. Why not satin then paint black with some Phantom black paint.

How else are you going to notice that something is aftermarket

I put one on my 24 Schaida, planes faster, allows me to go slower towing grand kids, allows more trim options. overall improvement, no down side noticed.

I have a fundeck and MMW put one on with my upper and lower drive rebuild a few months back. Get on plane easier, boat handles better, smoother ride. This is all MPO and wont be removing it.

Have them on ours. Jumps on plane, handles great, no hop at any speed.. Wish i would have done it to the Magic. A change to a 22 and whale tail could have saved me a few bucks.

If someone is selling, that would imply they don’t like it.
I’ll give my opinion… they are great for getting up on plane, however it defeats the boat’s ability to drop the nose in chop. Lots of bow rise with the smallest wave. I’m going to take mine off, but I want to keep it for weekend that we have a lot of people on the boat

I have original for my stock bravo lower. I will sell and its in havasu. Had to buy other model for my -2 lower. Great for getting on plane, mine isnt in the water at all when cruising at speed.

try moving weight to the bow before drilling through your drive
Boat specs:
25' eliminator eagle 250
450ish hp
Imco drive currently with imco splash guard.
(According to river dave the cav plate should be a direct swap)

Typical boat loads:
Couple hundred pounds of camping gear in the nose. Plus adults dogs kids and more gear in the rear.

When not hauling gear its 2 adults 2 kids and 3 100# dogs.

Me towing the wife on her slalom ski.

I exclusively boat at lake Powell. Im just trying to improve my planing ability and Keep on plane in heavier chop when im loaded down. Ive got my best prop on the boat for loaded conditions that i have found.

I haven't heard anyone say anything really bad about these and was more or less curious if someone had a takeoff sitting around they want to sell.

Ill talk with max machine, i have an imco drive but cant find any numbers on it to identify and know exactly what i have. For reference in the video above by river dave, my upper is the same as that one.

So maybe it will work...

Interesting. I would think with more surface area, when trimmed negative it would push the bow down harder.
I originally installed to help with a porpoise problem, which it did not help much, but it made a huge difference with getting on plane. Not so much from lift, but my prop would partially break loose, especially if in a slight turn, and it eliminated that. Prop doesn’t break loose and much harder acceleration.

This is more of what im going after. I don't have a porpoise problem. From what ive heard everyone has had similar experiences like yourself which is what i would like.

It only requires the model I have if you have a -1 or -2 lower. Those lowers donot have the flange like a standard bravo 1 lower.

This is the best picture i I have. It doesn't appear to have the bravo flange, to me it looks like imco SC lower. Anyone have any other thoughts?
