Whats a good head unit or source unit for the boat stereo? I have had 2 alpines and a Kenwood and both seem to suck for staying connected to blue tooth. They constantly disconnect and are not easy to pair.

Any feedback on the JL audio media master? Is it worth the money?

I recently installed a Fusion head unit. I'm very happy with it. It pairs so much faster and easier than my old Sony did. Their app is awesome too. RA210 is the one I got.

I recently replaced an old Sony with a new one and I'm happy with it. It pairs quickly even after having the batteries off.

Did the same thing. Way easier to use. Just had to drop the amp gain quite a bit from my old head unit.

so the JL has some kind of funny quirky things about the menus, the flow isnt the best. I had some issues with the bluetooth where it wouldnt connect without trying to pair it 4-5 times, and for some reason it would just finally decide to start working. I THINK the bluetooth stuff seems to be resolved after the latest firmware update on the head unit though.

But outside of that, no real complaints.

Put a RA210 in my resin bucket last month. I like it due to having a sealed case and clarity. It does have a slow start up if you shut down the entire system like me. Menu is weird but manageable. I was sold on the dual zones and separate volumes.

It is a Garmin product with a NEMA plug and cable.

We have the JL MM100 and love it. We used to have bluetooth issues once in a while but seem to be gone now.

Any downsides to it?

Got a fusion in boat and golf cart. Works flawless, Bluetooth picks up quickly and stays connected. Very happy.

Vote for Fusion too, currently haven’t used our media master 100 on the last few trips . Waiting on getting a upgraded unit cause the one we got went bad and got the frozen screen of death. Could replace under full manufacture warranty but it’s a process. Took option of getting new model for small up charge and 1 hr labor. Was nice when it worked.

Been rocking the Exogear instead 😂

I’m happy with my Fusion Apollo 770, but sometimes i miss the MediaMaster that was in prior boat. Biggest advantage to the Fusion is the app/remote for it.

out of the top 3 fusion units it seems that the main difference is zones Ra210 has 2 zones and sub, 670 has 3 zones and sub and the 770 has 4 zones and sub. I know all the decks I have used had 2 zones and sub. What would the advantage be to have the 3 or 4 zone if you would never need to adjust volume differently on those zones?

I just replaced my alpine head unit with the Wet Sounds MC-2. The sound quality is not necessarily better but the user interface is significantly better.

The user interface is all I am looking for. The old single din decks like the alpine and kenwoods are just a bitch to navigate through to pair the blue tooth or adjust any settings.

Not that I can think of. It's been flawless and I love the app for tuning the sound. Don't need to keep trying to tune the gain on the amps with a screwdriver, just do it on the app! The little cordless bluetooth round puck remotes they have are sweet too. No holes to drill!

I was studying these 3 units for quite a while before getting the 210. The 770 has ability for wifi of some kind. It can also pair with the 670 I think if you have a large boat with many zones. For me the 210 was everything I needed on a 28' open bow.

You can use the zones for different areas of the boat. Cuddy cabin could be a zone that you could drop volume in for a sleeping kid or the pod speakers/wake tower could be their own zone. Mine runs my front walkoff deck speakers for now just because I felt like playing with the zones. But it is set to adjust all zones based on the main zone volume 99% of the time. On my deck boat with no pods it’s definitely not a necessary feature. I think it’s mostly a feature for a big ocean boat or houseboat with lounge, Bow, Flybridge, etc… areas.

Im thinking the 210 is plenty for me. Does it have 3 sets of rca’s, 2 for speaker zones and 1 for subs?

RA210 has sub rca's for both channels. 4 inputs: am, fm, Bluetooth and USB.
Does not have a seperate sense wire for radio antenna but does for amps.

I’m considering going with the Fusion because of the wireless remotes (no drilling holes). Which fusion head unit would you recommend for a conquest deck. I don’t want to over purchase with features I won’t use. I currently have 6-6.5’s, pair in the rear, pair driver/passenger, pair up front, and 4-10’s subs.

Any other manufactures with wireless remotes. I don’t want to deal with holes again and can’t replace discontinued remotes like the problem I have currently , and other brands arnt compatible w head unit
