You too. Sorry I couldn't hang out. My wife and mom were inside waiting for their French toast.. Can't wait to see it finished.

Oh no, thank you! Sorry for the Mothers Day Interuptus.

I can't wait to see it finished either.
It was meant to be I think. You're FIL painted it the right color to entice me.

Time to start a build thread.

In time, J, in time.

DWC wasn't kidding about "mostly" there. I have some work in front of me, but it appears the major components are there. The pan looks solid and clean. A solid project car.

Now, I have to clear the garage.I might need a bigger shed out back. :D

Edit... Once it's together maybe we can trade.

Commando for Manx? :eek :D

Congrats on the project. Is it a tagged Meyers Manx body? Looked like it could be, had the pre drilled emblem holes on the rear.

Thanks!
I think it is? I didn't ask. Not really a big deal to me either way. But I think it's a Manx II ? I did notice those holes.

To know for sure I'd have to tug it down to Valley Center and have Bruce check it out.

I looked at this car a few months ago, you've got some good bones there. The roll cage is a work of art. I was looking for my brother and he's not much of a mechanic, I was interested but if I brought home another project it better be big enough to sleep in.
I don't know where the new owner lives but Chris at Foreign Unlimited in Long Beach is very reasonable and well respected in the Manx/VW world. Come on up to Big Bear July 14th for the biggest Manx/Phanx rally in the country. Last year around 400 of the lil buggers showed up! These cars are fun fun fun.
