never tried it is it smooth?

Very.

Every batch is a little different though. I’ve bought 4 bottles, 2 were very smooth, like the best bourbon I’ve ever had. The other 2 were still very good, slightly different taste, not quite as smooth.

I have a bottle from before it won best whiskey in the world 2019. It was $30. Now it’s impossible to find.

I've gotten where I like fyr. It's from jl distributors. Its 100 proof version of fireball. No alcohol taste at all. It really is like fireball candy. Its dangerous but so good.

How about some Old Granddad? :D

brbon_gra2.jpg

It's mentioned in one of my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs.

From Whiskey Rock-a-Roller:

Take me down to Memphis town, bus driver get me there
I got me a queenie, she got long brown curly hair
She likes to drink Old Grandad, and her shoes do shuffle around
And every time I see that gal
Lord she wants to take me down

Well, I'm a whiskey rock-a-roller
That's what I am
Women, whiskey and miles of travelin'
Is all I understand

This video was recorded in 1976 at the Knebworth Festival in Great Britain. There were estimates the crowd was over 200,000. Guitarist Steve Gaines had just joined the band, replacing Ed King, and they were at the peak of their popularity.

I love me some Skynyrd.

All are good choices. Another vote for Buffalo Trace as my go-to. Also go with Bulleit a lot of times.

Lately, for an inexpensive option, I go with Old Forester.

Garrison Brothers, made in Texas

I have been to Garrisons... its about 20 minute drive from my sisters property... Great Bourbon, on the spicier side.
If you like this, you probably also like Wild Turkey.

If I had my choice of a great bourbon, imagine a Blantons and Double Oaked Woodford... Smooth with lots of oak... That would be a damn fine bourbon.

Around my place, Makers Mark is referred to as my "house Bourbon". I view it as a great mixer, if I am going on the rocks, I step up my game. Many of those mentioned are on or were on my shelf. Most are good, I may need to try a few others. Not a fan of the angles envy but the Willets is very fine. buffalo trace is good but not great in my opinion. We all have our opinions......
