My magic boat trailer coughed up a bearing 2 seasons ago. Back then, trailer shop said they would repair it but could not guarantee work since spindle was badly gouged. Fast forward to this season I decided to service all 3 axles and found that the seal had blown on the faulty spindle. As I recall the shop told me the only option I had was to replace both axles since the NAS trailer spindles cannot be replaced. Apparently the axle is a one piece unit. Anyone run into this issue. Ive done a bunch of research and found you can repair the spindle with a sleeve. From the looks of the spindle it seems the shop tried this already. Any suggestions, Im thinking new trailer in the future. New axles, new brakes, rotors, actuator etc would run high $$$$.

If you can get the spindle out (can't see the the back of it to see if it's pressed, bolted, welded...) you could take it to a crankshaft guy and have them repair it, that's basically what they do to crankshafts.

Looks welded actually. Up to you take your time grinding that weld and push it back out have it repaired and push it back in and weld it back up. It will most likely be a press fit as well just don't know how tight, can't be too tight or it could crack the arm. It's doable if you take your time.

I should say make sure you have a crankshaft shop in your area before you go to all that trouble, it would suck to find out you have to drive a couple hours to the shop, also send them pics as well, I have heard of this being done before on old cars spindles. @monkeyswrench might be able to point you to a shop.

The best option would be to turn down the spindle and sleeve it...but I can't think of a shop out there that could do it quickly. If the boat stays out there, and the previous parts lasted a couple years, I'd polish up the seal surface, and put another seal in. At the end of season, pop the spindle off and have a shop local to where you live sleeve it.

It looks like the speedy sleeve has been damaged.
Does the inner bearing fit tight on the spindle?
There's ways to make it fit tight.
I'd remove the original speedy sleeve and replace it with a new one.
Get inner bearing fitting nicely and put it back together, with a new seal, of course.

Im going to replace the sleeve, but ultimately want to have spindle replaced. I watched a few youtube videos looks doable.

happened with my magic trailer as well. Adrenaline trialer in havasu has a direct replacement. You have to replace the whole axle. Pretty simple, did mine in storage.. Took about 2 hours.

New axles may just be a whole lot easier, and probably run about the same money.

Update, I ordered a new axle at Adrenaline last summer $675. I finally got around to replacing it. The process was a bit time consuming but glad its done. A couple notes if you run into the same issue. The replacement axle is exactly the same except the mount length is 1 inch shorter so you have to redrill one of the 5/8 mounting holes about a half inch apart. This inadvertently pushed my front axle closer to the fender well, the clearance is a bit tight.

The process
Remove hub assembly including brakes. Remove 2 5/8 bolts on each side, axle comes down
Drill mounting hole for replacement axle
Install axle
Install brakeline on new axle
Install hub assembly and brakes
Install wheels
Bleed brakes add brake fluid

Cheers!
