Looking at a 2019 Mercury 150 on a Pontoon Boat and noticed that the paint is coming off right at the point where the lower end attaches upper end. Has any one seen this before should I be concerned

Nothing to be concerned about….cosmetic more than anything. The paint on my mercruiser outdrive did the same thing, in the same area as the one you posted. I have seen quite a few other mercs with paint chipping/peeling. I bought the outdrive paint kit from Quicksilver (primer, phantom black enamel and clear coat), did a little sanding/prep and fogged it in. Not perfect, but looks better and is still holding up after 2 seasons.

That is not where the lower unit connects to mid section, it is up at the gray area.

Flaking of the paint sounds like a heat issue. Right where the impeller housing is?
