10 year anniversary coming up. Looking to travel the second week in October. Dates are a bit flexible on the front end.

LAX would be our first choice to make an easy handoff of our son to the grandparents. Can fly from LAS or PHX.

Looking for something on the beach(swimmable water), have passports but would be fine staying in the states. Would love to go to an Asian country but would want to do a longer trip for that.

On a bit of a budget. Have a lot of IHG points. Opportunity to fish or spearfish would be great. Oahu is out. Open to just about anywhere else.

Open to a cruise, never been but feel like I would go stir crazy.

We really enjoyed Kauai, would go again but thought it would be nice to see somewhere new.

Food is semi important. Living in havasu we love escaping for a good meal and don’t love Mexican food. Asian food/ sushi/ etc is where it’s at for us.

Thoughts?

The Big Island. Love the laid back vibe there. I enjoyed it way more than Maui or Kauai.
Barbados.

Air is 85 every day, and water is 85 and crystal clear, every day.

Lots of stuff to do.

Lemme know if you want more info. 👍🏼
I’d love more info.

Thinking more into it, I think it’s the stuff to do part that I’m struggling with. Living in Havasu we are 5 min from the ramp and have access to secluded beaches on most days. In my head it’s kind of ruined the appeal of relaxing on the beach. Obviously not apples to apples but I’m struggling to get excited about beaches.

Pretty hard to be South Florida that time of year!
Key West or the Florida coast was one of my first thoughts. My wife really wants to catch scallops.

We are heading to SD this weekend for a family get together. Excited for it for sure but we will be just as excited to go home. The family is complaining about the heat! The high in SD is less than our nightly low temp. I’m bringing a jacket. We love Nashville but done it twice already.

Cabo is an easy flight from LAX. Costco travel has some nice adults only options.

I would vote cruise. I have never been bored on a cruise, if anything it's activity overload. Destination and cruise line is important though, each one caters to different demographic's so you need to research the right one for you.

Key West or the Florida coast was one of my first thoughts. My wife really wants to catch scallops.

Cons: it's a long azz flight!

Pros: Everything else.

The people there are Very friendly. That's what blew me away. We rented a house on the beach that had four servants. One cooked, one cleaned, one did laundry every day and one took care of the grounds.

The island is Very different on all sides. There is an area where All the big money hangs out. Areas that feel remote and rough. Going to the rum plantations was awesome. A lot of the island revolves around sugar production. Google "crop over Barbados" and you'll see (major league party!).

You can hike, shop, surf, snorkel, you name it. Check this out...

I'll post some pics for you later today. 👍🏼

Key West is pretty awesome, no doubt about that. But, for your viewing pleasure, I give you, Barbados...
