Looking for a french bulldog trainer?

Need recommendations on a Frenchie trainer. San diego to riverside, orange county. She turns 1 in Feb and didn't pick her up until she was 5 months old. She is hand down the dumbest dog I have ever encountered. It's honestly impressive. Any help would be great. Amazing temperament and loving dog. Maybe my expectations are to high coming from a Australian Shepherd. Pic of said dummy.

Yeah good luck with training a Frenchy beyond pottie training, they are some of the dumbest animals. I think the command repetition is for a GSD is 5-10 command reps, a poodle is like 50, French Bulldog is a 1000~ reps.

Gizzy’s lasted dump shit move… She knows she is not allowed on the couch. Because its leather, and she will scratch and try to fluff it up, before laying down… So when she gets up their, a calibration happens…

About 4 months ago… we caught her on the couch… And she got her butt spanked to get off…
About 30 days later… dejavu… another butt swatt…
About 30 days later…. Dejavu….
Now its happening about 1 / week…

Beginning to think Gizzy, enjoys the calibrations…

But she still attempts suicide way to frequently, still shits on the concrete, can shit at full sprint like a horse while playing fetch, and yes I can keep going…

The most surprising thing about her… I would have never guessed she would still be alive, due to her suicidal tendencies.

Bitch loves to pick fights with any dog that thinks its dominant… She gives them a PHD in dominance in blink of an eye….
She has yet to find one thats doesnt submit, including Pit Bulls 2 at once, German Shephards, and Larger, typically give up in about 45 seconds….

Within minutes, the guy had the dog follow All of his directions!

I was like how in the fuck did you do that???

Well worth the money, but your time investment will be substantial. I don't spend as much time as I should with him, but he has the commands down that I need him to have down.

I was not a dog person...I didn't really like them. Then I met Krystal, and with Krystal came Suzie...a stupid puggle (Pug/Beagle mix....dumb as rock). Me and the dog butted head for a while, but then learned each others quirks and exploited them against each other. Dog was not as stupid as I thought. I learned to love dogs and we ended up fostering / owning / taking care of at least 10 more over the last 15 years. Some of it was challenging, most of it was fun.

Dog training isn't really about training the dog....it's about training the person and the dog to understand each other and work together. You can't really hire a dog trainer and expect it to just work better after they're done.....it won't. You have to invest the time and work with the dog to come to a mutual agreement, for lack of a better term....and then you'll be good. If you're not willing to invest the time, or not able to....then maybe finding a new home for the dog is best.

Some dogs are easier than others, but all dogs can be part of the family and once everyone gets it...it just works.

I call my dog stupid, but he's really not. He's smarter than the rest of us...which is why we call him a stupid dog...because he's figured out how to get away with and do whateverthefuck he wants and instead of kicking the shit out of him....we just laugh and pat him on the head. He doesn't wake up when I have to get up in the middle of the night to pee, but I have to wake up in the middle of the night to let him out to pee. I make my own dinner. He reminds me that it's dinner time every night at 6:00 on the dot.

yup, that stupid dog....he doesn't like boxes either, or mail that comes through the mail slot. I don't mind teeth marks in the bills or junk mail or scaring the shit out of the mailman as the mail gets ripped outta his hand halfway through the slot (If treats come through first...he's good...otherwise we hear a "SHIT" from the front door and mail goes flying across the room lol), but we're working on training to tell the difference between checks and bills. The bank doesn't seem to like depositing checks with teeth marks/holes in them.

We have two female frenchies. Both are very well behaved and if you pay attention, they are pretty smart. When my older one was a pup, we did a beginner training course with petsmart. The instructor was a retired marine but did a great job. The course wasnt simply training the dog, the owners were there and got some training as well. Not high end training, but it was inexpensive and we thought we got a lot out of it.

Mine was actually very smart. He'd open a cage door latch with his paw. When he was hungry he'd carry his bowl over to us. We took him for training and he actually passed the canine good citizens test and went on to be a certified therapy dog. A prolong collar goes a long way to instill discipline if they don't get with the program. We didn't use it often but he'd get in a stubborn streak and it would straighten him right out. If it's fitted correctly it is not inhumane so all you PETA types, stick a sock in it.

Mine is an absolute asshole. Nacho is great off leash if I’m in the garage and he’ll just wander around the driveway but won’t leave the property.

He’s a character for sure. He’s fairly smart and knows all the typical commands but if he’s pissed about something or is ready to eat he goes ape shit barking at me and then when I stand up he’ll judo kick me in my manhood, no joke. Been a couple of times I had to do a Tim Tebow down on one knee to recover from it
