One of my 300X’s is locked up and I’m searching for a powerhead.
I’ve called both of the “best” outboard guys in Havasu for a rebuild. One doesn’t answer the phone or email. The other one won’t call back.
Guess I’ll need to just buy one outright.

Good luck. It goes 3 ways with an X, 1. It's something simple. 2. Your off to the welders to patch the holes and then fixing the shitty porous casting and then buying sleeves and then scrounging for decent hard parts. 3. It gets tossed in the dumpster. These two, which I am married to are named perfectly.

Usually they come to me looking like this and end up a wine rack on the shop fridge.

Long live my ever faithful 2.5

I might know of a couple take offs from a person that can be trusted if they are still around.

HST4ME saved my 300x, it was full of surprises and allot of leaks but after plugging all the holes from #6 giving up its run great the last 2 summers 😎

They run out better up top. The opti will pull harder from down low.

What's the value of two 2002 300X motors? 20" mids, just over 300 hours, good compression on all cylinders, reeds replaced, injectors cleaned and flow tested. Not ready to sell, as I would have to be ready to buy, but just spit balling.

Thanks for the info. I’ll probably pull the powerhead and ship/drive it somewhere that has time to work on it. Any recommendations in socal?

Hoffman Motorsports in El Centro put out some nice looking stuff. No personal experience, but heard good things.

I've got a brand new 300x long block from Mercury with invoice.
