Yes he has the 19’ molds. I own a 2008 GS Daytona laid up by GS. Extensive work was done to fix and make the 19’ Daytona molds awesome by Jeff Bennett and GS. He also has the 19’ TPR molds.Blue Wonder, are you shedding light on the 21 or the 19? Not that I'm in the market for a boat, but is it true that GS has access to the 19' molds??? Just curious is all.
Oh, I know they have the mold. The problem is that it is in terrible shape and not worth the effort to lay a boat up in until the mold is fixed. The amount of work required to fix it after the fact is the problem.Molds are like young girls with major issues, they get passed around like nothing else. I'm pretty sure Tahiti has them and will be more than happy to pop one for you. I haven't heard any negativity from those guys at all which says a ton.

It just business is growing. To build a 21 DECK the Tahiti way, which is capped bow stern and good pump stuff. The hull takes an additional 4-5 weeks in repair and capping. In that time it will cost me a 21 skier and or 23 deck bare hull in lamination time.
We do not have 3-5 repair guys on staff obviously, so we have to pick and choose projects as they come.
When we raised the prices, the demand went away. 23 decks we have a back log and the calls never stop.
Jet - Outboard - IO
21 Decks are my favorite river boat, but making a new mold is not in the financial cards unless dudes step up and the back log grows.
Hope that helps clear it up.

Thanks for the info. I messaged you yesterday on the 21' on IG. I think the 23 will be in the cards for me.It just business is growing. As stated above, "....4-5 weeks for repairs and capping....and we have 3-5 guys on staff."
I'm no mathematician but that seems like a long time for "Capping and repairs" with 3-5 guys working on a single boat. I'm sure you have them working on other things throughout the day, but that seems like a LOT of time.
It honestly may be worth it to take a deep breath and start working towards repairing the mold or starting to build a new mold. It's your business and you know how to manage things, but if the hulls came out of the mold only needing the optional cap work, you could be laying up more boats per year thus making more money in the long run.
Good luck and thanks for the updates!
he does not have 3-5 guys
I think the 21’ is a much better looking boat than the 22’/23’. A new mold would likely net you the backlog you never saw coming.
I hope at some point it becomes realistic financially for you to tool a new mold from it.
I've been thinking this for a long time.
How did the one with the 300 do. I have always heard that these didn't like the outboards as they were tooled more towards the jet applicationIt just business is growing. Look guys I’m a bigger fan than all of you. I lost money in most of them just trying to make them perfect. I don’t have dcb Nordic bank roll. I’m a boat dude
If I make a new mold for the 21 deck.
How many buyers will come?
The price will be higher to recover the tooling costs
No bullshit no tire kickers
How many people want a low profile 21’ jet deck for $80k with a carb approved LSA engine only or outboard
Thin dude. I done see it
I’ll continue to cap them and do our best

GT, what hull is that sitting over to the left in that picture?
