I have the previous model of this one with the sear box

The cool thing about this one is that with a single pull of a knob you can slide the plates out of the way for direct grilling. And if you want a sear, the sear box attachement hits 900.

Which model do you have? I’ve got the entry level and it doesn’t get much over 400. Looking to move up to something else

I got it at Cabela's and it has their badge on it. I'm not sure of the model but it's the large one. When I say it will get to 700, it takes a while and the ambient temp needs to be fairly warm. I only did it once

I am thinking about picking this one up after Christmas dose anyone have this one how is it?

I have the 7 series and have been very happy with it. Reasonably priced also. If you are looking at a smoker then the vertical is the best, if you are looking for a grill then horizontal is needed.

If your serious about it and want to only buy a pellet smoker ONE TIME buy a Yoder. Then forget about all the Chinese made economy cookers at big box stores. They’re not even comparable.

This 100 percent accurate. Yoder is by the far the best pellet smoker if you want buy once and be done. If you are not comfortable with the Yoder price point buy a Green Mountain Grills - Daniel Boone Prime.

Same exact color combo I bought. I did not do the stainless shelves. Just have the stainless wire shelves. So far don't see the need for them yet. Have you tried the griddle?
