We upgraded to a new home this past summer. Hillcrest Bay, Parker Dam, AZ.
Still a work on progress giving the rest of the property a facelift.

This is our family house in Parker but lately there's been so much dram,we rarely stay there anymore. In the next couple years we are hoping to buy everyone out .

When my kids get older I'd like to have my name on something like that. I don't have enough others with water toys in my circle to have partners in something.

Family lake houses can be a PIA. The log cabin my great grandfather built in Wisconsin in 1913 is owned by me and my uncle 50/50. His kids use it more then anyone yet don't pay for anything they break or wear out. Last year alone my cousins broke over 5k in stuff. So tired of it I have asked to be bought out or buy my uncle out.

Uncle refuses to sell or buy me out for market value. His offer was 10% of market value. Total PIA

Don't own one, just rent them. But love the accessibility and how close it is to everything and that you can beach it 9/10 times without a ticket

Only one I could find of mine. We had just finished re-stuccoing the whole house. Bought mine when they were real cheap.

Last time I spent time at the cabin was 2005 for a week over Labor Day. Went this year just to check it out in person while I had a layover in Chicago on business. Drive the 6 hours (Chicago to the cabin), spent over 8 hours cleaning off the roof, leveling the floor and other maintenance items that required attention then back to Chicago to catch my flight the next day. Thinking I might have to do this more until I figure out what to do.
Somehow I need to get out of it (living on the west coast I don't see using it much and it has major repairs, projects in the next few years). My uncle's offer of 10% of market is total BS and he refuses to sell (says he wants to give it to his 3 kids). 2 owners is a pain, 4 is going to be a nightmare! Going to have to talk to my lawyer about options if that occurs.

I proposed a usage fee to my uncle (anyone that uses the cabin pays $50 a day), with that money going into a maintenance account to assist with the upkeep. He refused and said that was not fair to his adult kids.

This is a very nice home.....been there in person and the pictures don't do it justice!!

Thanks Paul, someday I'd like to sell and build but it would be hard not to be in this house.

Just sell your fractional interest in the property, or at least put it out there to your uncle that will be your intentions....

I think I know your new neighbor, his place just got finished.

Yep. We haven't seen them out there since they finished it up. I'm sure we'll see them more this summer. I have only met them in passing but them seem like nice people [emoji106]

Fun thing about property ownership, you can force a sale pretty quick.

Unrelated but best thing I did was sell my house in Havi... Vacation ended quick dealing with all the B.S.
